<> Michigan Tech Huskies 2023-24: Is the MacNaughton coming home? <>

In a new statement Monday, the university confirmed the review was completed.

“Michigan Tech is aware of the concerns from former player Marcinkevics,” the statement said. “We follow established university review procedures in such instances which could include interviews of students and employees conducted by university general counsel. While this review has been completed, federal FERPA student protections laws preclude us from commenting on any specific circumstances.”

I don't usually read a lot of D-III articles, but this one jumped out at me and I spit my coffee out. It's a column about Middlebury's new coach Jack Ceglarski, and the last name made me click to see how he's related to Len Ceglarski (his grandfather, it turns out).

https://www.uscho.com/2023/11/15/ceglarski-seeking-to-change-recent-fortunes-for-panthers/

"Those included Jeremiah Ketts at MCLA, Kevin Cole at Misericordia and Bobby Rodrigue at Keene State. John MacInnis steps into the large shoes left by Hall of Fame coach Bill O’Neill at Salem State and Jack Ceglarski takes the reins at one of the most successful hockey programs at the D-III level, looking to revive the Middlebury Panthers back to being a perennial contender in NESCAC play."

Spoiler alert: the guy's name is really Chris MacInnis.

So isn't that tripping on the part of the goalie? I mean sure, Pietila maybe should not have been in range to be tripped but in a 3 x3 and one guy gets put out of the play, makes it easy for the other team. Also, I think Coach Joe needs to get someone else to do the postgame interview. His attitude is obvious and his heart definitely isn't in it. If that's what he's going to give us, he needs to get someone else to do it.
I feel bad for the players, that was a tough way to lose.

I didn't think NMU was better tonight, but I did think they had notably, and significantly, superior, goaltending than we do. If we are looking for consistent goalie play we are not getting it.

I think played we played good, however the D is very questionable with the D zone coverage and they get beat right in the neutral zone. Joe is over hyping some of these players and I do not see it. So easy to blame the goalies however starts with better D play

For those of you not going to Grand Rapids, big news - FoxUP in Marquette is televising all four games of the GLI.

The nascent ad-hoc Gray TV Network is growing quickly, with local stations in these markets also picking up the games for broadcast (and more potentially to be added):

WILX Lansing, MI
KFXF Fairbanks, AK
KMOV St. Louis, MO
KCRG Cedar Rapids, IA
KBJR Duluth, MN

And for those of you not in one of those footprints, FoxUP will also have a FREE live stream. If you have Flo don't sweat it, the games will also appear there as well.

He's not actually here yet.

Second item: I went to buy a GLi ticket today. a 50 dollar ticket on ticketmaster with fees, is 71.50. So rather than being ripped off I'll take my chances and go to the box office the day of the game.

Bargains can be had on the resale sites when someone can't make the games and need to unload their tickets. But there needs to be enough of a bargain to offset the resale sites fees.

I do think locals are currently opting against going because of the relatively high ticket prices. I think a lot of people here would like to see the GLI in person, but aren't interested in spending around $300 to bring a family of four to Van Andel for a night.

The Griffins are also in town Sunday night. A Griffins ticket, with fees, is $38.

I think 50 is on the high side but doable. it's the 40% + fees that make it unaffordable. A lower bowl ticket for dual in the D is 88 dollars plus fees.

If there is anything more deserving of a RICO slap down, it's the ticket cabal.
