WCHA TV has been pretty solid through the evening. Couple small stutters.

Redmond :/

I will never understand trying to sit on a 2 goal lead.

Just need to keep playing like they did last period and hope they have enough in the tank.

That was a lot of fun. Good on you, Tech, and good luck in the NCAAs!

What a game! We may have made it harder than it needed to be with Redmonds turnover. But great we got the W for the huge crowd. Looking forward to NCAAs!

I love that Mel has the fans come on the ice to celebrate with the team.

Mel's post game with Dirk:
Great game. Envisioned this with Glen Mroz and Suzanne. Took longer than Mel wanted. But this is the atmosphere I wanted.
Hats off to BG. Respect for their team.
A lot of pressure on the home team but the guys played hard. The crowd was great.
Thrilled to be part of this program.
Have to look at the tape not sure why Shane was up there.
Not sure where we're going. Mel's on the committee. Probably should be on the call by now but that's okay.
There'll be a show on Monday to discuss more.

I'm going to assume we get Denver, the number 1 team. here's my report on them.
I've seen them about three times. They are a puck control team primarily. they play a very similar game to BGSU, except, the forwards are very high skill, soft hands type guys. Second they have real good defensemen who do everything they can to transition you very quickly.Their defense reminds me of ours. They do not like to have the puck in their end and do what they can to get it out quick. the goaltending is very good.
They try to hem you in to your own zone at your blue line and get that transition going. They like to forecheck two guys with one guy back to clean things up. They really emphasize wining the face-off as a way to get the puck on their sticks and control the flow of the game. You have to win those face-offs to keep the game from getting out of hand.
When UND played them, UND purposefully sent the puck to certain guys and avoided sending it in the zone to other guys. They also were very physical in the neutral zone to slow Denver's transition. Denver also is very good at transitioning to defense.
They are a real good team obviously but compared to other team i've seen, they deserve the number 1 rank. Right now the only other team in all of college hockey as good as them is Lowell.
As far as UND, not as fast as Denver, but very good in their structure and very physical. Denver has more scoring talent but UND is very solid defensively. I'd say Fargo is the group of death.

My goodness. What a game. Lifted the roof off that building.

I think it should be DU vs MTU in Cincinnati, not sure it will be though.

Good tweets by Tech Hockey Guide thanking Mel for all the recent accomplishments. GLI, host playoffs, NCAA tourney, McNaughton and Broadmoor. Some of this may have been helped with realignment but it doesn't happen if you're a bad team. Thanks Mel!

Congratulations Husky fans on your first ever Broadmoor Trophy and the first WCHA Conference title in 36 years.

It was a great game to be at. The atmosphere was tremendous. A game I will remember for the ages. Go get'em in the NCAA's Huskies. Just win them before OT!

Congratulations Huskies! Great to see the community step out on the ice to celebrate with the team after the award ceremony. That is college hockey.

I was at my brother in law's wedding in San Francisco I could only follow on Facebook, when I finally saw Tech live streaming the celebration, I cheered, luckily I was outside at the time. I saw the replay of the winning goal, way to go Hanna! To me, that's the most beautiful goal I've ever seen. Let's go get some more hardware!
