Michigan Tech Hockey 2025-26: Time To Muck It Up

I was watching SportsCenter’s Top Ten Best Plays last night and was gobsmacked to see a clip of Michigan Tech scoring on Northern at #5. And to make it more surreal, I was watching from a cruise ship in Maui…
 
Pretty disgusted by the games this weekend. giving up shorthanded goals is not my favorite way to lose. And Blasi can suck an egg. What a sourpuss. I did like how hard we played, I did like our game overall and a lot of other things though. A week off will help too. maybe we can get a few guys back before GLI.

You all might have missed it. at the interval between 2ed and 3ed periods a Bg player being interviewed was asked what they had to do to get back in the game. His answer, ....draw more penalties. NMU subsequently got called for 3 consecutive penalties with 5x3 for a few seconds between each.. then a few minutes later a Bg player got called for diving.
 
I made the trip to Big Rapids this past weekend and I cannot say how proud I was of Tech and our fans who also made the trip. The team surely started slowly on Friday coming off the long layoff and let Ferris hang around. And then kicked it in the 3rd period. and on Saturday Tech was executing like a machine, love the way the coach works the bench and fires up the troops. Now this is the 4th time I have seen Ferris as I was there for both sweeps, with talking to a few of their parents that I know at the game and with my own observations. Their team last year played a hard forecheck and fast pace style last year and this years team has a lot of guys floating and losing board battles or should I say just not working hard. wingers cannot break out or just throw pucks right to the Tech players, Sad to watch them but Hey Tech needed and wanted the sweep.
