How would you then make certain that the second beer doesn’t end up in the hands of someone who is under 21? In the State of Michigan, not only is the license holder liable, getting fined and having points against their license and increased insurance, the server also get fined and charged with a misdemeanor. Even if there is a “bouncer” or designated ID checker, the server is still 100% liable for where the beer goes. Now, if the alcohol is only permitted within an enclosed area, and is limited to 21 & over, there’s no problem with 2 at a time. These kind of people **** me off. It is not your business, or responsibility to worry about whether or not I have a beer while watching hockey, so shut the **** up.
Also, I'd say 2 beers should be allowed to be purchased at a time (this is standard at pretty much any arena that serves beer), so you can get one for you and one for the wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend/buddy, etc.
At NMU, it’s one beer at a time, but it is allowed to be taken to seats for hockey. Basketball and football have beer garden areas.
