Michigan Tech 2013-2014: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Realignment

Re: Michigan Tech 2013-2014: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Realignment

Are they? All that article does is talk about how they're not together and lost to some terrible UAH squad, and how that should motivate them. Now, I know that we're not very good this year, but the opinion columnist shows even less respect to UAH than his team apparently did on Saturday night.

But whatever. Go Tech.

I see it time and again.
Your guys play good enough on this night to beat the other team and all of a sudden there's a thousand excuses for why it happened.
It happened because your team put more pucks in the net and therefore were the better team on that night.
Period Dot End Of Discussion
Don't let anyone discount your wins.
And yes I also posted this on the UAH thread.

Re: Michigan Tech 2013-2014: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Realignment

Considering they've pretty much taken the last month off, I sure hope their ****ed off enough to start playing hockey.

I'm sure Tech will be equally motivated. They've gotten only 2/4 points each of the last two home series. You can't consistently split at home against the other teams competing for home ice (like LSSU, BSU and BGSU) if you want to finish in the top four.

Re: Michigan Tech 2013-2014: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Realignment

Watching Ferris against um and they are out shooting them after 1 period 14-4.

Looking forward to the BG series.

It's encouraging to see the Huskies in the upper half of the nWCHA. It appears that we're starting to see the dividends from opening the season with that string of tough non-conference road games.

IMHO, the nWCHA is shaping up nicely. Having the UP schools together and the Alaska teams together is creating some exciting rivalries. Does anyone miss North Dakota? ;)

Yeah I'd like to have em this year. They don't seem to be doing so well.
Rumblings to have Haks head on a platter. Figures for fickle n.d. "fans"

Another 1 goal loss.

Mel's postgame interview:
Very frustrating, we played hard, played well, had a few hiccups, didn't get them much
Pheonix has played well, but he didnt' play well tonight, can't give up goals like that
1-1, eick goes in on a breakway, can't get any seperation
Need to get better around the net
Didn't like any of the 3 goals given up
moved puck well on PP all night, good opportunities
2 breakaways for Eick, 4 posts on the game, we're playing hard, their golie playing well
We have to create more traffic, otherwise he'll stop it
a lot of good things going on, brekout, good start, real good 2nd
1st goal give up, mixed up on a line change, but guy took a wrist shot, don't like giving up that goal
lines looke good, J. johnstone showed hustle speed, sturos and baltus doing well, a lot of guys playing hard/well, every bounce/break more magnifide when not scoring
tomorrow is critical
told team about how we played hard, but need to play harder tomorrow, have to be ready to go
Encourage everyone to come tomorrow, bring your teddy bear, the guys will bounce back

Something has to be done about this lack of production from the offense. Wish I knew the answer.

Re: Michigan Tech 2013-2014: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Realignment

I don't know whats more frustrating, the inability of the Huskies to score or the complete collapse of Mitch's Misfits. :( sad panda ):

Phoenix Copley has been the story so far this year.
Unfortunately, that third goal was just like the UM game winner in OT.

Good luck tonight. Can only go with Phillips tonight or you risk losing his interest. Will be interesting to see who Coach Pearson decides on tonight.

PB has been stinky too. Not sure what is going on...

I'd not go that far... we've only had one blowout loss. There is a huge difference between close frustrating games and getting our assses handed to us.

a loss is a loss. at least to me it is. no moral victories in D1 athletics. with the way teams lock it down defensively these days, it's tough to score but need to find a way. more importantly, take advantage of your PP opportunities. get a win tonight and use the GLI as a springboard to a good 2nd half

Pathetic third period... Demonstrating that this team suffers from a complete lack of on ice leadership... :(

Blake Pietila is reminding me more and more of Jimmy Kerr as a captain. I hate to say it but he shouldn't have a C.
