Glad for the Senior Night win, but that third period was sloppy.

Re: Michigan Tech 2013-2014: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Realignment

Must win tomorrow for any shot at home ice.
If my review of the schedule is correct, Tech can secure a playoff spot with a win. NMU could still jump past MTU all the way from 9th, however with the remaining game pairings, not enough other teams could pass Tech to bump them all the way down to 9th. So go get that win!

You really don't know what you're going to get in this team? I'm stunned they swept NMU and will have at least a share of third after all the WCHA games are complete tonight.

It points to bright future I think. :)

"Michigan Tech is like a box of choc-o-lates..." ;)

They nearly handed it back. Copley stood on his head and the home cookin' at the end made it way more interesting than I cared for. They needed to put one in on the major, but a W is a W.

Popcorn and scoreboards next weekend. Need at least a split with Mankato for any shot at home ice without a ton of help.

Re: Michigan Tech 2013-2014: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Realignment

Great job guys, a very big sweep to turn the recent trend against Northern.
I cannot wait to see what happens in Mankato.

Re: Michigan Tech 2013-2014: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Realignment

Popcorn and scoreboards next weekend.
Spending next weekend cheering for Ferris to sweep Alaska and for Mankato to sweep LSSU. BGSU and NMU along with old CHA rivals BSU and UAH need to split and keep anyone from climbing. Assuming that happens we would be left with the following going into the final weekend.
FSU 42
MSU 38
MTU 28
BGSU 26
UAA 26
UAF 24
LSSU 24
BSU 24
NMU 23
UAH 5

But we control nothing next weekend, so just sit back and enjoy the stress and sleepless nights as other teams climb closer. In all seriousness, I hope both Mankato and Ferris sweep this weekend so that Ferris can win one game the final weekend and ensure that Mankato has nothing to play for the last day of the season. Maybe the loss of a title chance is just the letdown Tech needs from Mankato to grab some points?

Re: Michigan Tech 2013-2014: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Realignment

I'm not surprised at all. They have been one bounce from this all year and so maybe they just got a few.
I wonder if tv 6 is happy with how things went.
It sounds like nmu outplayed us on saturday so we have plenty to work on in the break.

I'd be careful what I wished for on the playoff front.
I don't care who does what next week. What i'm worried about is getting some points at Mankato, even one might be good enough.Mankato is going to play hard even if they can't win because they are close to an at large bid.

We're not beating Bemidji at the Sanford Center. The Beavers have eaten our lunch up there for most of the last decade.

Maybe. If we do well at LSSU, we'll be in the running for an at-large berth. Lay an egg up there, and the McNaughton and an at-large are out the window. Second place is already clinched, so we don't even have that to use as a motivator. I hope the Tech series is very meaningful, but we have to take care of business with LSSU first.

There are certainly scenarios whereby Tech gets fourth even if they get swept. In fact, when I took my best guess as to the rest of the outcomes, Tech came in fourth (barely) with 28 points. However, nothing ever matches my best guess. That's why I stopped doing the WCHA pick em (that and the first time I missed a week, Tech swept BGSU and I'm a bit superstitious so I stopped picking all together). Bottom line, a point in Mankato is huge because it avoids all of those tie-breaker scenarios. Next week this time it should be painfully obvious what every team needs to do and yet probably still painfully uncertain what every team will do.

Is that what the Americans said before they beat the Soviets in 1980?
Is that what the American said about beating Hitler after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
Germans? Forget it, he's rolling.
UAH is a team of (mostly) AmeriCANs, not AmeriCAN'Ts so get up there and get it done.
Pound on those Beavers until they beg you to stop. Then take them out for a nice dinner and never call them again...
We're all behind you on this (well Tech fans anyway).

Yeah, after next weekend, it will be interesting to see where everyone sits with 2 games to go. I'll be scoreboard checking from a beach in the caribbean, not sure my wife will appreciate that but I'd like to know where things are...

Re: Michigan Tech 2013-2014: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Realignment

I did not get to watch the game this weekend, good to see us get a bounce and good goaltending in Marquette.

I was surprised to see Jimmy Davis in the lineup, how did he play for anyone that watched?
