Re: Michigan Tech 2011-12 Season Thread, Part II: You're gonna need a bigger bandwago

1) WOW, WOW, WOW!!! I did a double take when I looked at the score Saturday night! I thought it had to be a reversed score typo.

2) Check out the game blog on the Duluth News Tribune website. Here are few entries:
- tech believes after Friday
- tech goal...and I am not kidding...this is so one sided...it could be stopped by a TKO
- the shots are mounting up so fast I can hardly count them...and I'm not kidding
- this is really something I haven't seen for more than 1 1/2 seasons...can't explain this folks
- Just tuning in?...surprised at the score?
- Comment From UMD Alum: "Are we going to have to cheer SOG instead of actual goals????"
- Comment From Marie: "Listening on the radio. Can hear the MTU fans, Mitch's Misfits, more than the UMD fans!"
- the way I have it figured, after scoring 4 goals in Friday's first period, UMD has been shut out for 89 minutes, 47 seconds...and UMD has been No. 1 in Division I scoring for a while at 3.96 per game

3) I'm surprised that nobody at UMD mentioned that this was a payback weekend for Mel. I guess they forgot he was a Michigan assistant at the national championship game last year. It's obvious that Mel hasn't forgetten! :p

That's right! I forgot all about that.
It sure is nice to see the team at full strength & healthy this time of year. The changes to the strength & conditioning program have really paid off. *knock knock*

They played quite well against UMD in Houghton too, but made some bad mistakes in the 3rd period both nights that cost them a chance at points.

Has there actually been a change?

I don't know specifics, but heard complaints last year about too much weightlifting, I also heard this year they're not doing as much weightlifting during the season and haven't been as regularly exhausted as they had been years past.

I'm sure there were some changes considering they fired Chris Ipson last year. Plus, we heard they quit using the skating treadmill.

I think Ipper is still there, maybe not with the hockey team. Really the strength coach should be setting the workouts which should include some type of maintenance lift in season. Have they really quit the treadmill or just in season? I know it was mentioned but hell it could have broke down as well.

It was hockey or nothing for him. He's with the Cedar Falls RoughRiders.

Today is the fourth installment of Future Huskies where we have an in depth question and answer session with one of the committed recruits to get to know more about their decision to play for Michigan Tech and what they will bring to the Huskies. Today we have quotes from head coach Mel Pearson, assistant coach Damon Whitten as well as the Head Coach of the Coquitlam Express, John Calvano. Alex Petan is featured in today's installment. He is one of the leading scorers in the BCHL and will join the Huskies next season.

Anyway flashy can fix the mobile site? yellow text is awful to read there. content is fantastic though.

Re: Michigan Tech 2011-12 Season Thread, Part II: You're gonna need a bigger bandwago

You know we originally changed this from gray to yellow because of a complaint here about readability on the regular site, right?

Should be still gold for the regular site..

Yeah, like Flashy said, the regular website should still show the quotes as yellow, but now the mobile version will show it as plain black text on the plain white background, better for everyone involved...

Yeah, The mobile site was unreadable with the yellow on the white. Just like the regular site was before the change :). The mobile site has the quote tags that could be fixed too. Those don't work on safari on iOS it would seem.
