Michigan @ Minnesota, Feb 14 & 15

I still think Yost's atmosphere is going to be a culture shock for the gopher players and fans in March.

It's not what it was in the 90s or mid 2000s, but it's still off the charts. Who knows what it will be like when minnesota comes in.
The only players on Minnesota who might be in for a culture shock would be the first year players otherwise the other players are seasoned enough from playing in Grand Forks.

And the NHC. And the Final Five. To name just a few.
Even the friendly confines of Mariucci. They know how worked up crowds can get.

Wait, I forgot. The folks at Yost have super-human vocal chords, shoot lasers with their eyes, fireballs from their throats and death clouds from their rears.

Since there isn't a series next week, and you all are intent on keeping this going, why wasn't the cross-check to the throat a 5 minute major? Seems the definition above supports it.

I've been to the Ralph, it wasn't that loud. It was too big, and the fans too far away.

I do have super-human vocal chords. Thanks for noticing. You're not the only one to notice. Heck, a mere 9 people from the Yost student section were loud enough at an away game to have the arena turn up the canned music on us.
Also, I can shoot lasers from my eyes. And thankfully, whoever was shooting death clouds from his rear last season has not shown up this season.

Ha! the Yost tin can more intimidating than The Ralph or Kohl? That is simply laughable.

Careful. Someone who used to play hockey will explain how the guy with the Christian Bros. bowtie was at fault...

Well, he clearly should have seen it coming and protected his neck. That'll teach him to play with his head up!

The late cross check was Sinelli laying out Kloos after the whistle with about a minute and a half to go. Just a frustration thing that happens too often at most levels. The rematch at Yost should be fun! As a gopher fan I'm curious to see how they respond in that environment.

Unfortunately for Michigan Yost isn't the same as it was back-in-the-day. I blame Brandon....

Don't know if you saw the wisconsin series but The Children were chanting Little Dick and Tiny ***** at Sean Little and it clearly got to him as he was parading to the penalty box all night in the 4-1 win.

Yeah. The UW Madison series will probably be the toughest environment the Gophers play in. A solid UW team, #1 team visiting, their most hated and next door rivals, BTN games...and the first night 2-1. Yost won't be the same.

This would make for a much better story if the score weren't 3-1 and Little had actually taken any penalties in that game.

You can add that many rinks don't even have much atmosphere. The Gophers will be WAY HIGHER for the Yost experience than they would for even a home series against PSU. Minnesota always gets up for the tough games. These young guys will be jacked up for a rowdy venue. They might lose, but they'll be ready to play, and it will be great for fans.

In terms of crowd intensity when the Gophers are in town, you may as well throw the Concrete Center and Amsoil into the mix too. SCSU/UMD fans have much more hate for the Gophers built up and they pack their rink when our club is in town. There is nothing that Yost will throw at the veterans of the Gophers that they haven't already faced numerous times before. It is laughable.
