Michigan @ Minnesota, Feb 14 & 15

Re: Michigan @ Minnesota, Feb 14 & 15

Watching tonight's Gopher game here in Armpit, Florida on Fox Sports Detroit feed. I hope Michigan appreciates the musings of Doug McLeod as much as Minnie fans do.

Not really- he keeps calling us wolves- which are not exactly wolverienes. And his interpretation of the play is pretty homer. Not so bad for FSNorth, but when he called the MSU game on B1G- gotta remember this is a national audience.

Tolerable, I suppose.

Good thing the hockey that he's describing is really fun.

Those in glass houses shouldn't allow their idiots to speak...

It was a penalty yes but not worthy of how the FSN moron described it.

Really? How would you describe a cheap shot elbow to the head then?

edit: better or worse than the cross check to the throat after the whistle?

Sweep sweep sweep the Fugly Helmets.

Fun hockey this weekend. Too bad Michigan has got some sore losers who like to lay dirty hits on the top players. Wasn't it Michigan who checked a Spartan player after a goal? Clean up your ****.

hmmm... maybe they can replace the fighting halos in our new conference.

We can, you can't win with class...

I don't even know what you're talking about...

Glass houses? Winning with dignity? I don't get it. Sorry I don't like to see your players intentionally throwing cheap **** around with the possibility of injury. One game misconduct, fine. But twice in two days? Justify it how you want, Red needs to get his team under control.

Re: Michigan @ Minnesota, Feb 14 & 15

Was a fun game to watch, Michigan plays up tempo like we do which made the games entertaining.

Hopefully we can wrap up the B1G title before going to Yost, that will be a tough place to win.

Re: Michigan @ Minnesota, Feb 14 & 15

Really fun weekend. Crappy turn out, but having the game go that fast is pretty entertaining.

I know a lot is going to be made of the cheaper shots, thinking that there will be a lot of "bad blood".. I still don't see that happening. Sinelli's cross check was pretty stupid, granted, and the announcers made a claim that the Minnesota bench was really upset by the hit by Downing. Yet at the end of the plays, and at the end of the game, there was no chippiness that the rest of the team was taking it personally. So either the Minnesota bench really didn't care, or they know that Michigan was getting frustrated that they were not scoring.

BTW, one the Downing hit, had the player cleanly played the puck, it would have been a good hit. Mike should have pulled up, sure. But I bet he thought that the player would have played it cleanly, and didn't think to check up until it was too late. he paid the price, and got tossed.

Anyway, Minnesota's shooting depth in addition to the D trying to score goals, well, that defined the game. Oh, well.

You're right about that. We're still a little ways from handshake line fights.

The more this is playing, the more I see this as the Lake State "rivalry" we had. Which was totally awesome. I sure hope it turns out that way.

Come on, man. You seem to be more rational than that other dummy who already posted. You mean to tell me that down late in the game, the SAME player who got in trouble and ejected last night, was just going for a clean hit and it was an ACCIDENT? You know that isn't true. Hope he enjoys his suspension.

And yeah, you're **** right it bothers me to see plays like that. These guys are still young men, so while it may be just a game, it's also their lives and their hockey careers. If the Gophers resorted to that BS, I'd be embarrassed. With that said, it was entertaining hockey, I'll take the points and hope no was injured.
