Michigan Hockey...

could get interesting with Ivankovic out. At Minnesota this weekend. Normally fast and fun games, but this Minnesota team's record doesn't look like the Minnesota I'm used to. I'm hoping we come out with at least a split if Peck is in goal. He didn't look bad against ND or the U18 team, but he didn't look like a steal a game for you goalie either.

If Ivankovic is out for the season, with the new rules can we make an offer and poach a CHL goalie?
No, since you opted in to the House settlement as the Big Ten mandated, there are no midseason adds available. The only possibility as I understand it is to drop another scholarship to open the spot, and that seems pretty doubtful.

technically correct, but if you labeled some players as a certain designation before the season, you could keep an open spot. no clue if they did that...

but even if they did, the answer is still no- classes have already started.

Well it's time for part 2 of our series and although Ohio State's season is in the toilet I like to think on our home ice we have a chance to be spoilers against Michigan. I don't suppose any of you brave souls will be coming down to the games?

I didn't see this until today, because work and life have been super busy. I try to avoid Columbus when I can. I do need to take the parasite to some games at other arenas sometime though. Maybe next season.

Hope you're doing better than your team.

First game we have seen in person since November. And all we came out of that game was how are we #2 in the country.

It was nice they won, but they should have gotten all 3 points. And I'm not sure why we are starting Ivancovic, as two of those goals should have been stopped pretty easily- the bad angle shot from almost the goal line and the 4th goal where there was no screen and he had all day to line that up. But he didn't get help from our stars- my god, that third goal where Horcroft didn't even look for the obvious pass to him that ended up in the back of the net. real groaner there.

Ugh, Thursday hockey is wrong, unless it's the Thursday/Saturday of the Frozen Four

And while 6:30 will get me in bed at a reasonable time tonight, these days and start times mean NaSK can't go with me. I'm taking the little one with me tonight, but I don't know if I'll want to do that 2 nights in a row. Since hubs can't go, I've got an extra ticket tonight and have yet to find any takers.

Stupid tv, silly start times. Not a fan

Regular season over. I didn't make it to Senior Night which makes me sad, but some good friends used the tickets and their eldest daughter got to ride the Zamboni. Friday's results were much better than Thursday. After Sparty faulting a bit in their series, we still sit 2 points ahead of them in the B1G with them having 2 games at Minnesota this weekend. I don't see them not taking at least 2 points on the weekend, so that will leave us with a 2nd place finish in the conference (PSU in 3rd place, 8 points behind us cannot catch up).

Rather than have a week off, we've got an exhibition game Thursday night vs. Simon Fraser in what will be their last NCAA game before the University drops the team that had been competing at the NCAA level.

With this game being added late in the season, and students on Spring Break, tickets are available in case anyone that has yet to see a Michigan Hockey game in person this year.
