Re: Michigan at Nebraska-Omaha - 02/13/10

Swanson's goals came within 23 seconds of each other.

9:16 to play.

UNO 4 - MI 0

Scooter off to the box. Now all I want is a Michigan player to start fighting and get a DQ for next week.

For a team with talent out the ***, Michigan is bad when they want to be. They keep hanging Hogan out to dry in thie series.

Being that it's UNO's last year in the CCHA and they've never swept Michigan, they were really motivated this weekend. They sure played like it.

Caporusso scores to break the shutout bid.

UNO 4 - MI 1

3:27 to play in the game.

Re: Michigan at Nebraska-Omaha - 02/13/10

20.6 seconds left, and for some reason the refs decide to call a penalty. Michigan to the PP.

Re: Michigan at Nebraska-Omaha - 02/13/10

Game over.

UNO get their first ever sweep of Michigan and 6 huge weekend points.

UNO 4 - Michigan 1

I don't understand the love that Starman and company were showing UNO. Repeatedly saying all weekend that Miami will suck at the end of the year b/c they aren't battle tested (sorry that we also swept Michigan at Yost, tied NoDak at REA, 3 from UNH, swept St Cloud...), and that UNO won't be knocked out of the CCHA tourney

Re: Michigan at Nebraska-Omaha - 02/13/10

HI. DS here. Was told by a staffer at CBS College Sports that my words seem to have been misunderstood regarding Miami.

So to set the record straight....

I think UNO will be competitive this weekend and if Miami lets them hang around they could get beat. Do I think UNO is going in there and sweeping Miami? Not really. Do I think UNO is capable of sweeping Miami on the road? Not really. Would I be shocked if it happened? Not really. Two good teams, a great test for each. These are two games that will increase Miami's "battle tested" status. Additionally, with the tragic passing of Brendan Burke, this team has moved into a higher level of battle tested due to the emotional trauma they have had to process.

#2. I have mentioned my worry about Miami is have they been pushed to the limit this season where they have really had to dig down and find ways to win games? Are they "battle tested?" My general feeling is not as much as some other teams who should make it to Ford Field but don't twist words here. Do I think Miami can win it all? Absolutely.

Enjoy your college hockey weekend. Thanks as always for tuning in.

DS
