It was a toss up with St. Marys and St. Olaf. I would like to see St. Marys.
I just think the ollies have a better shot at knocking the gusties out.

Re: MIAC Playoffs

Olaf over Marys tomorrow

Kates over Thomas
GAC over "Olaf"

Kates over GAC... they have it in them! They deserve it with the year they have been having!

Re: MIAC Playoffs

St. Olaf over St. Mary's tonight

St. Olaf over Gustavus Thursday (they beat them in the regular season, and I would like to see them advance)

St. Thomas over St. Kates (The last time these 2 teams played for whatever reason St. Thomas did not play their number 1 goalie, 3 time all conference, and former all american Lauren Bradel?) With her in the game I just do not see St. Kates being good enough to get by them. Concordia played St. Thomas last weekend and put up nearly 80 shots on Bradel and were only able to come out of their with 2 goals. She is very solid.

If my memory serves me right Concordia and St Kates were in a battle last year for a playoff spot that last weekend.
But the following week I remember saying YES Kates are playing Bethel and at that time they had Beth Spurrier and she was a very good goalie.
Well guess what, Kates beat them both games.
So I think it will come down to the whole team effort to decide this one.

That's My Take

Olaf beat the Gusties early in the year when the Gusties still hadn't gelled as a team. They also lost to Superior and tied River Falls early and came back and beat them both later in the year. I'll say gusties 5-2... if Olaf even gets by St. Mary's... which I don't think they will... Mary's 4-2 tonight with an empty netter. Then Gusties 4-1 on Thursday.

Re: MIAC Playoffs

All of the SMU campus will be in shock if they score 4 goals. They haven't scored more than 2 goals in the past five games. Scored 4 against St. Ben's a month ago and 5 against Augsburg.
Guess it all depends who the Olaf goalie will be.

Looks like I was wrong on tonight's game. Olaf got it done when they needed to. I still gonna stand by my 5-2 prediction for Thursday. I will take St. Kates over St. Thomas on Thursday as well 3-1.

Re: MIAC Playoffs

i don't think gustavus scores 5

I think it will be a 5-4 game for some reason. I really don't see a 2-1 score in this game.

So here goes my upset pick

St. Olaf 4
Gusties 3

The other game I see maybe 4 to 5 goals scored.

St. Kates 3
St. Thomas 2

Re: MIAC Playoffs

Any thought on tonight's games?

Thursday, March 4:
* St. Thomas at St. Catherine NC 7:00 pm
* St. Olaf at Gustavus Adolphus NC 7:00 pm
* - MIAC Semifinal

I'm going with
Gustavus - will not lose again in St. Peter to the Olies 4-2
St. Catherine - A very close game 4-3

I guess you should look at Mel Gerten conference stats VS Lauren Bradel. I just looked to see what each others stats were and Gerten stacks up just as good and better in some of the stats...

Re: MIAC Playoffs

GAC takes Olaf

Kates/Thomas game I can't figure out!

Kates has unreal players who can find the back of the net, their knack of getting 2 on 1's versus teams is great, but how the finish them makes them stand out even more. Gerten is not as strong as Bradel. Gerten has recorded more playing time, giving her stats a slight boost over Bradel, but Bradel coming off the weekend she had against Concordia, 75 for 77 shots, I would say Bradel found the right time to be playing that kind of hockey!

Therefore, very excited to see the results of tonights games!

Thomas takes Kates.

Say What??? If St Kates' 68 goals, 23 games, 2.96/gm = WOW!:) Then Manhattanville 135 goals, 26 games, 5.19/gm = DOUBLE WOW!!! Go Kate's beat St Thomas, purple sucks.......uh oh, forget that comment, your purple to.:o Just leave it at go Kate's be the Tommette's!:D
