Re: Merrimack @ Maine - Friday Feb. 25th

Pretty goal.

Merrimack is shorthanded, right? Or they're choking. Or both.

I don't want to believe this Maine team had this in them. It would make the season even more of a failure.

This is a Maine team that should be better and still has potential. No question it has been a disappointing season. Truthfully Maine should have been 2-1 against UNH, and 1-1-1 against BU. But that's life. A statement this weekend would be nice!

s/b 2-1 against BU... gave up an extra attacker goal in the tie and a two goal lead in the 4-3 loss

flynn! 4-0 maine!

Re: Merrimack @ Maine - Friday Feb. 25th

Mangene very slow to get to the bench. He looks ready to get back out though.

They're actually playing with some physicality tonight. Merrimack hasnt gotten any consistent pressure on Maine all night.

Yes, but it's taking them out of the play. Can't you see the scoreboard reflection.

Guys, this is nothing more than an exhibition of what these players can do on their own. They've been muffled by poor coaching all year.

Perhaps they've tuned out his gum chewing completely?

According to Rachel Lenzi on Twitter Sully now has the second longest shutout streak in Maine history. Jimmy Howard has the record at 193:45....Sully passed Blair Allison's 147:53 this period.

Much love to Dan, but that record is almost 10 full periods of shutout hockey. He should be proud to be #2 to probably the greatest goalie in program history. I don't see it happening.

If he gets through tonight who knows? I didn't think he'd get through the second game at Lowell clean.

Re: Merrimack @ Maine - Friday Feb. 25th

If Maine continues this defensive pressure throughout the rest of the series he probably could get it.

Merrimack certainly isnt a top-5 squad without Da Costa.
