Per Jeff Cox, Gallant was responsible for getting Dennehy fired. It makes sense that he was also responsible for this hire. Just goes to show you that money can get you influence and control but definitely doesn’t get you any hockey sense.

Jerry's tires don't need Cox's pumping. He's a ridiculously hard worker who, in addition to being a terrific recruiter who connects with the players before and after they arrive on campus, is also the architect of a terrific powerplay. Too bad you couldn't or didn't recognize what he brings. NU and its fans are thrilled with your decision.

Is this the same Jeff Cox who said that Exter flew to campus and interviewed and was a shoo-in while actually Gibson and the entire staff/faculty were down in Florida?

Thank you. We are, too. I have no idea if you selected the right guy to replace a good coach who seemed to struggle to recruit. I thought you needed to find another Albie type to sell your program to the right recruits. Dennehy seems to have some pretty good recruits lined up for next fall. Hopefully they will not abandon you as ours did (Gaudreau, Gillies et al) when our paranoid AD wrecked our staff six years ago. If they show up and the new coach connects with them, you should be better by this time in 2020. Good luck.
