Mel Pearson-Michigan Tech's new Coach

Re: Mel Pearson-Michigan Tech's new Coach

Read the opinion section in Tuesdays gazette from Jim Storm it appears like Mel likes eating in Hoton not in Ann Arbor where hockey is second fiddle to BB and FB. I think we have a winner in Mel.

Wish we had a winner in media and marketing quality.

Everyone, if you see Mel in Walmart make him feel welcome with a big hug and some hockey talk.

Autographs? What time?

What section of Walmart?

Are you first in line?

Is he giving away some of those season tickets to yooper and technohusky at Walmart?

I'm thrilled that you are thrilled, but you're sadly mistaken if you think he/MTU screwed Michigan. Berenson encouraged him to take it. Mel deserves it. Michigan will carry on and MTU... will still be in Houghton. Don't you have Dirty's laundry to go do or something?

I seriously doubt that Red was "thrilled" Mel took the job. Because #1 Red now had to find another coach and #2 more than likely he will have to start coaching again rather than just being an admin and having a 20+ year associate head available to do the work.

In other news, where / when did Houghton / Hancock used to have a Big Boy? I had to eat at one in Detroit when I got stuck overnight and there is no doubt why that franchise is on the way out. Anyway, that pre-dates my time in the UP Twin Cities, but curious where it was located. At least I can remember the K-mart and the mall actually being full of stores.
