Introducting the MASCAC Last Person Standing (LPS). This is a rip-off of every other LPS contest with some special rules just for the MASCAC
The MASCAC season starts on Tuesday 11/17. Picks are due before the puck drop on that day. For the rest of the season, most of the conference games are Thursday / Saturday, and we'll use that schedule, but for week 1, it is Tues/Wed/Thurs/Sat.
Here's your chance to join that pantheon of Last Person Standing winners (humbly, it includes your's truly who still has no idea how he did it).
Our game is a little different because the MASCAC schedule has 3x against each team and you could ride a weak team the entire schedule.
Here are the rules:
Each week of league play (and continuing into the playoffs) you pick one game. If you are correct you stay in the game, if wrong you are eliminated. Ties lose. The winner is the last person standing.
Now the additional details;
The only games in play are MASCAC league games - non league games between MASCAC members do not count.
You are allowed to pick a team only twice to win, and only three times to lose.
================================================
A sample pick from Week 3 might look something like this:
Fitchburg St. over UMass-Dartmouth on Sat
Used to win:
Once: Fitchburg St.
Twice: Salem St.
Used to lose
Once: UMD
Twice: Framingham St.
Thrice: N/A
===============================================
The game continues until the last weekend of the league playoffs or until everyone has been eliminated.
All picks are due by the drop of the first puck of each league play weekend.
It's not an easy game, and lots of people get burned in the first week by trying to slip in a pick to win for a middling team against a supposedly weak team only to find the middling team has slipped and the weak team isn't as weak as their rep.
So here is week 1, pick only ONE game -- picks are due by 5:30 PM on Tuesday 11/17:
