Mariucci Classic: RPI @ Minnesota 1/4/14

Re: Mariucci Classic: RPI @ Minnesota 1/4/14

So a penalty that gets missed or ignored about 95% of the time costs RPI a goal, and they don't even put the right guy in the box. "I know I saw something bad, but didn't see who did it!"

Then Minn scores on the ensuing power play.

Wonderful.

The Gophers have been called for that faceoff interference a few times this year, they had a point of emphasis on that this year. So yes it gets called now.

If it was a penalty-and I am not sure it was-certainly it was not Devito. What could have been an exciting 4-3 game with a few minutes to go-has been made into a game where it leaves a bad taste. No question this game was all Minny and deservedly so-but it should be 4-3 with time left to have an exciting finish. Just my 2 ¢

It was a penalty, you watch hockey much?

Can't believe I find myself agreeing with FD on something, but that kind of crap happens on just about every faceoff in the ECAC, and rarely if ever gets penalized. When it does, it's only when it's most inopportune, like when it puts you down 2 men in overtime.

I agree it was a legit call, just burns me because while it may be a point of emphasis in the B1G this year, it certainly hasn't been in the ECAC games I've seen. Oh well.

Yeah when we got called on a few times at the beginning of the year I couldnt believe it, but the refs have been calling it that way all year. For us anyway.

3:00 left in 3rd, Gophers 5, RPI 2. SOG Gophers 43, RPI 19

Re: Mariucci Classic: RPI @ Minnesota 1/4/14

Another three goal loss to Minnesoter if things stay this way.

:headdesk:

I don't think we were embarrassed though. If only we could play periods one and three, but not the second.

And as I edit this, there goes goal number six.

Re: Mariucci Classic: RPI @ Minnesota 1/4/14

It's irrelevant to this game, but Mike Prapavessis team (Toronto Lake Shore) had 38 shots in one period.
