Mariucci Classic: RPI @ Minnesota 1/4/14

Re: Mariucci Classic: RPI @ Minnesota 1/4/14

The Goofers have survived the first with a tie. How many do they get in the second?

I think it is time to accept that the powerplay just isn't going to get better. Just a question of how much worse it can get.

We're at 15.9%, Colgate is 12.4%. We're close. Gophers score! Connor Reilly...our go to guy.

End of the first all tied at 1-1. The good-we scored first and we are tied. The bad-we are falling all over th eplace and giving up far too many good shots-especially from the points with men in front. Nice to be tied-but the first period has been by far our best and the next 40 minutes we had better make some changes. Go Red!!

We definitely gave up far too many shots. I don't think we can rely upon Diebold to play at this level for 60 minutes.

Not when they are shooting from the point or the slot and have one or 2 guys in front of the net for rebounds and defelctions. Fortunate to get out of that period with a tie. Minnesota seems a step faster to every puck. Of course having 4 minutes of penalties to none for them does not help the situation. I suspect that on this big sheet of ice, penalties are a bit more difficult to kill and take far more energy chasing down the puck.
