Congrats to the Gophs. As a UNH'er, I had tickets to this and wanted to check out mariucci for the first time but had to give them up for the pack-vikes game. Hope the Cats play the U at mariucci soon.

I think it switches to the Minnesota only teams at the "X" next season. But, I'm not sure.
Wait, the MN tourney is the new classic? hmm... didn't know that. If that's the case, you can't call it Mariucci classic anymore if it's played at another arena, can you?
I think that's a good idea, if we aren't all in the same conference anymore, to play in a tournament every year. But aren't there 5 Minnesota teams? Lets see, UMn, UMD, SCSU, MnSt-Mankato & Bemidji St. So which team gets left out, or will we rotate and each team not play once every 4 years? Or will they come up with some concocted way to include all 5 teams? They could have some sort of play in game on Friday night, then semis on Saturday and the Championship on Sunday. Might be a good way to do it, but would UMn ever have to play in the play in game? Our tournament, we always get the bye?! lol

My understanding is that they're planning to make it a four team tournament and alternate each year. The Gophers would play a series with whichever team is sitting out the tournament for that year. That's the last I heard anyway.
The team that isn't in the tournament will host the Gophers for a series that year.
So it's for sure that the Gophers would be playing away from Mariucci for each of those series? I know the purpose of the arrangement is to support the other Minnesota-based teams, so if true this wouldn't be surprising.
