Agreed, these announcers are obnoxious. Would rather have the NESN color/gameplay guys.

As MNS noted, it is somewhat for PWR purposes. Additionally, I always root for conference mates when playing out of conference games. It has absolutely nothing to do with BC. Minnesota is tied for my 10th favorite team. :p:D:D

It's college hockey. There are two types of commentators. Guys who are psyched to have the assignment because they like the sport... and correspondingly are fans of a given team. These guys fit that mold. But that also means at least they know college hockey. The other type is the career broadcaster who could care less but is working their way up, or is otherwise just stuck with the college hockey assignment. Those are the guys who mispronounce every name. You've only got two choices, fanboys or idiots. In the east we seem to get the idiots.

Besides that part of it, you could never see the puck lose because Milner had control of it. The whistle should have been blown long before the end result (and even then you never see the puck).

Honestly, I was worried about a start like this? A very well balanced Minnesota team out for revenge in their own barn against a very thin, inexperienced d unit for BC. I'm not surprised. After that first "goal", was looking for a better response though. Hope they can at least climb back into this one and don't get embarrassed like BU did last night.

Glad it's only December...

I just don't think he's very good. It's not a Minnesota thing either because I haven't minded their past announcers like this guy they have now.

We had an idiot last year. Awful. Terrible. He was indeed promoted, to do play by play for the Wild. Karma is funny sometimes.

Bob Kurtz still doing radio for the Wild? How do fans feel about him? Used to love him when he called Hockey East games.
