Re: Marian at Adrian - Nov 5 and 6
I'm new to the fan forum but have followed Adrian and the MCHA since day one of Adrian's program.
To introduce myself to all I will start with this: I am very proud to see how improved the top teams of the MCHA are since 2007. The league is starting to win games against NCHA and MIAC teams which didn't happen even two years ago... I also think that if there was ever a year for the Bulldogs to run the table it's this year. They were close last year to beating an NCAA veteran St. Norbert. Two years ago they were very good but I feel that the first years team was the most primed for an NCAA Championship if involved in the tournament. Until now. The seniors know it's their last shot and the newcomers are going to play a key role in the Bulldogs depth and a couple of them may be a help on the top two lines and on the already disgusting PP.
Fogal finally has someone to push him and the defense is still very good even without Stansik (a shame he can't be on the ice with the team this year). An older defensive core will hopefully cut down on the goals against. Playing against grade B and C teams has hurt the Bulldogs in the past because the D can afford to be lazy and sometimes a bit point hungry- causing bad habits against the top teams.
Bottom line is this... If the Bulldogs buy in to each other and stick together they have the pieces and the opportunity to run the table... or at least win the big games down the stretch.
One game at a time, though, and it starts tomorrow!
Oh yeah, almost forgot:
Adrian 5-2, 5-1
GO BULLDOGS!!!
