March 25, 2011 Score Updates: National Semi-Finals!

Re: March 25, 2011 Score Updates: National Semi-Finals!

Not sure whether this has been mentioned, but congratulations to the West on the first all-Western final since 1994. A fantastic showing by both teams this evening, and one eminently appropriate to decide at the Ridder tonight.

Both winners were deserving. Great runs by both the teams that didn't win (I won't call the losers, when you reach this stage, you can't be a loser).

What's funny is everyone considers Adrian a western team, yet they are located in the Eastern time zone and are closer to many eastern teams then they are western ones.

I'll be rooting for the Bulldogs in this one, nothing against SNC but an Adrian win would be one heck of a story, not that we would be able to read about it on USCHO. Maybe they will throw a picture up of the winners on the front page. Heck, if SNC wins they could just recycle the one from 2008. No reason to overexert themselves.

The NCAA regards Adrian as a Western team, and that's all that matters. They have to travel farther to play in region non-conference games than they do to play non-counting out of region games - that's NCAA logic for you.

As for USCHO coverage. As of 8:00 this morning, there was never anything posted about the quarters that took place two weeks ago, and of course nothing about last night's semis

Another Adrian "western" factor is the conference - with Illinois and Wisconsin members.

Go Green Knights!
