Does not seem to deter the suicide bombers.
Though apparently the whole "72 virgins" thing might be a myth. (Sane) Muslims don't really believe that, any more than (sane) Christians believe Jonah was really in the whale.

It's rare that I'd ever read anything by a KKKatholic nun, but everybody should read her statement on the accused. It's true: he seemed genuinely sorry for his act and he said nobody should suffer like they did.

I don't know, but the link you provided here comes to the opposite conclusion; the 72 virgins are widely supported in Muslim texts and scholarship, and "by Muslims themselves." I like the promises about how perky their breasts will be.

In the aftermath, Tsarnaev is awaiting the needle.
Marathons/long-distance events have drastically upped their security measures. For example, only clear bags in the finish line area. Plus more of a police presence (something I see a lot).
I love how an American (Meb) won the Boston Marathon the following year.
And more and more people are signing up for races, even local 5Ks, as a result. Nothing will stop us.
