Making a Murderer updates

Re: Making a Murderer updates

It's not what you know, it's what you can prove. Just finished Ep5, S2. There is more than a reasonable doubt at this point about Avery, more than enough to release Dassey.

That being said, at this point, Avery COULD have done it, but it's not clear-cut, therefore reasonable doubt, therefore wrongful conviction. At the least.

Re: Making a Murderer updates

6 1/2 episodes in. I’m shocked at the audacity of Kratz showing up in Chicago and delivering a press conference.

I’m also pretty disturbed at the Halbach’s silence on current events because there is no chance they’re unaware of the science/forensics pointing away from SA/BD.

Zellner’s summation on Hillegas was great as well as her encapsulations thusfar of the status of the SA case.

To echo many sentiments: Zellner's a bad-arse.

Re: Making a Murderer updates

I feel like our justice system needs a thousand more Zellner’s

She's doing this pro bono, IIRC. We need more like her, but in general, who could afford someone like her?

Edit: she said just hiring a blood spatter expert is 20 grand. I mean....Jesus.

Re: Making a Murderer updates

The problem with the criminal justice system is pretty easy to see. The tunnel vision of police to not let the evidence take them where ever it goes and instead trying to find proof of what they believe happen. Everyone gets convinced someone did something at it seems like police do more and more to help make sure the person they’re convinced did it doesn’t get away with it.

Nirider definitely failed in the 7th circuit...I was groaning at her performance. I mean the SG was bad and she was way worse.

Absolutely. She was on her heels mostly.

Imo, between Diane Sykes and the judge who asked about needing 2 suspects...softballs to knock out of the park. I feel bad for her as the difference in experience and attitude between her and Zellner is so stark. Can’t play nice when so much is at stake.

She was embarrassing. Can't mess around with Fed Court. They ROASTED her.

Re: Making a Murderer updates

Bobby committed perjury around 10x on the stand. His brother Bryan signed an affidavit that acknowledged Bobby saying “Steven couldn’t have done it, she left the property” or something along those lines.

He also lied to police about the date 11/3 that he picked up a roadkill deer and dressed it (is that the term? I’m not a hunter) in his garage so that when cops showed up for Avery they saw Dassey’s garage filled with blood but it never occurred to them Bobby was maybe using the deer to cover human blood. I mean this is text book **** and manitowoc cops must be the dumbest (or most corrupt) in the State.

Re: Making a Murderer updates

I’m going with both dumbest and most corrupt.

Lots of pearl clutching and law enforcement worshipping idiots up there.
