Maine Summer 2013 - Pizza Season

Re: Maine Summer 2013 - Pizza Season

I wouldn't dismiss Tim from securing another Division 1 coaching position. Connecticut has a interim coach at present and will be entering Hockey East next year. Tim has the college coaching experience and under the right circumstances could build a winning program. He failed at recruiting the last few years, but this doesn't mean he couldn't be successful at another Division 1 program under different circumstances.

No question he can coach at D1, all depends on whether you want to compete at the top level of D1. Whitehead probably will never get or keep you there. He failed at recruiting yes, but also at the task of coaching, lets face facts.

Cav who? Chrerist , if Yorkie cant throw in the towel before he hits 90 years old so a young guy like Cav can get his chance at coaching, why would we want him ? Think it would be funnier to hire angry Jack :D

Actually its an easy hire, ...call in Standbrook and ask him who he thinks...then hire his recommendation.;)

Apparently, you don't remember the way Cindy Blodgett left.

That is very true, buttt cindy wasn't offered or was going to be offered a head coaching job. Shes an assistant at a bad basketball school, theyd be happy to have anyone, BIG difference

Re: Maine Summer 2013 - Pizza Season

Same difference, Allagash. Tim won't be in the running for the DU job. He might for the Alaska position, however. He's not getting upgraded - any coaching position he lands will be a step or three down from where he has been. Just like Blodgett.

I disagree. It's about having dignity, integrity and personal character in handling adversity.

I think TW would be a good fit at an ECAC school with low expectations and a docile alumni base, but the way that league's been having success of late who knows. UConn is interesting....jeez what kind of reaction would be get bringing the Huskies to Orono for the first time?

Well, I've only logged in once since last April - but I think that will change. This past year was the first time in over 10 years I didn't attend a game. It just wasn't worth the 4 hour roundtrip commute from Scarborough - it's different when you go up, the environment is vibrant, unique and fun. I can deal with wins and losses, ebbs and flows ... but when there are glaring problems that go unaddressed for too long, and the luster lacks ... I just can't do it.

But now - I may have to look into re-upping season tickets?!

What a sigh of relief. GO BLUE!

Which ECAC school has "low expectations" of their hockey team? I find it hard to believe there are any with low expectations.

Re: Maine Summer 2013 - Pizza Season

Dan Kerluke's on the short list to replace TIMMAY? Don't make me laugh.

i threw up in my mouth a little when i read it... i think they just included the current assistants as a matter of course.... you and i have a better chance of being hired than kerluke does...

it does beg the question though, i assume that both corks and kerluke could/would be gone if someone like jimmy were hired? i would assume he would have the right to hire his assistants

Correct. Assistants are hired by the head coach.

Lower than Maine, I'd say all of them besides Cornell and Harvard. Maybe Yale vis a vis the last 4 years.

Toot did OK at Princeton. Places like that accept rebuilds and whiffs. TW's wheelhouse.

True.

Maybe he will team up with stephen king.

You're from Scarborough too!? Small world.

Re: Maine Summer 2013 - Pizza Season

“Over the next couple of days and couple of weeks we’ll see if I’m contacted and I’ll make some phone calls to see where the interest level is on both sides,” Montgomery said.

Its pretty high. :)

In my book its between Monty and Pelly. Everything else seems to be a distraction. Cant see Leaman interested, and wouldnt rank him higher than the others. Think I'll volunteer (yeah dotate my time) to be on the search committee....kind of a taxpaying citizens vote. :D Dam, that Montgomery guy says all the right words. :)
