Maine Recruits: When Ashes Fall, Legends Rise

It's not surprising considering he got pushed back a year. However, after the poor start in the Q last season, I don't know how bringing him in this year made sense. Hopefully there's a quality goalie in the portal this offseason.

This sucks. Figures...he is at the top of the stats heap in the BCHL so of course he decommits 🙄......no doubt marketing his new found success to the $$$ programs. With Boija being a SR and PWS being a JR.....Barr better be laser focused on bringing in a big time netminder next season.

Wouldn't surprise me if he did decommit but fwiw he was still listed as a Maine commit on the Grizzlies lineup chart yesterday. (LINK)

I thought he played well enough toward the end of last season to give him a look this year behind Boija, but PWS is looking like a good snag.
Ya, not sure. I'm just going by the info I mentioned earlier. Was suprised no one had mentioned i no here or Discord.

All this talk about recruits decommitting makes me wonder how secure Sokolovskii's commitment to Maine is.
Barr was in attendance with his family for the NHL Draft. That's a sign to me that he's committed to the OHL > NCAA > AHL? > NHL development path.

I'd be pretty confident about him being on campus for next season but not sure he'll be here more than two seasons at most.

I think he stays at Maine for 2 years and then goes to the nhl. He is definetly a highly physical shutdown d man he just needs to polish his skating and add more to his offensive game

Reid Dyck would be near the top of my wish list. The Bruins have a log jam at goalie so he probably has two more years in college and I can't imagine he stays at Colgate another year. It wouldn't be the first time someone from a lower league came into the Alfond and decided they want to play their home games there. The Bruins goalie development coach Mike Dunham might have a few good things to say about Orono too.

The Bruins don't have his rights anymore. he's a free agent

No mention of Mikus Vecvanags decommiting?
He was not going to make it at Maine. He’s simply not at the level needed. This is no surprise. He couldn’t stick in the Q and looked bad every time I watched him. Big, poor posture, slow, back mechanics, can’t recover, giant 5 hole… I’m surprised he was ever on Maine’s radar to be honest.

November Update:

Poul Anderson still leads all of the WHL and is tied 2nd in the CHL with 25 points in 15 games.
Also is 2nd in goals in the WHL and tied 5th in the CHL with 13.

Landon Wright in 15 games is tied 4th in assists (14) and tied 20th with 18 points in the OHL.

Evan Van Gorp in 14 games is tied 6th in the OHL in +/-.

Ollie Därth in 13 games is tied 11th in goals (7) and tied 17th in points (14) in the USHL.

Michael Munroe in 13 games is tied 17th in the BCHL with 8 goals.

Jaxon Cook in 19 games is tied 5th in points, tied 10th in goals and tied 5th in assists in the Upper Midwest Highschool Elite Hockey League.
If your wondering what some of the talent the UMHSEHL has helped produce, some of the notable names are Macklin Celebrini, Scott Morrow, Casey Mittelstadt and more.

Maksim Sokolovskii (2026 #27 overall draft pick) has been injured and hasn't played in a game since the season opener on September 25th.

Will Schlechtweg also changed teams from Muskegon (USHL) to Maryland (NAHL)

Also keeping Mikus Vecvanags on the list for now... In 14 games in the BCHL he has 2.38 GAA (5th), and .926 SV% (3rd) in the league. Only place i've seen him removed from is Chris Heisenberg's list. I've seen Heisenbergs list have some incorrect information on it before so I'm not removing him from this list until there are more sources around that can confirm that information is correct.

Next posted update will probably be in the beginning of December.
