Re: Maine Recruit Updates: All Are Welcome.......

Coughlin, who Maine might have been in on, picked UMass. Unfortunate, would've been fun watching him with Vesey.

Bump. Hopefully this thread gets more active soon.........

Has Gendron landed any impressive recruits yet? As great a coach and motivator as Walsh was, he still had talent that was on par with, or greater than the top teams in the league and just don't see Maine getting back to even close to that level of success again unless they can start truly bringing in more grade "A" recruits. Too many 3rd and 4th line types filling the roster and it's going to be real tough for Gendron to break that cycle.

Pretty much what Jay Leach said between periods during the St. Lawrence game. He and Walsh were lucky to finally convince talented players to commit to Maine and not attend the Boston schools. It wasn't only on ice coaching. That was a huge break through. He also said college hockey has changed dramatically snce then in many ways.

Must be very recent announcement. Heisenberg doesn't have him listed yet, not unusual as he usually waits for official confirmation.

Michaud commits to Black Bears for ’15 or ’16 season
By Nathan Fournier

LEWISTON —Lucas Michaud said it would be an honor to play for his home state.

The 16-year-old from South Portland native committed to the University of Maine last Wednesday for the fall of either 2015 or 2016.

“(The coaching staff) was nice and they all seemed like they were very good coaches,” said Michaud, who visited the school last Tuesday. “They have a lot of experience from their time playing professionally and I think it will help me to get to the next level.”

And going to Maine guarantees...what?

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: All Are Welcome.......

Nothing....whats your point

You said going to BU or BC "guarantees you nothing" but then admit going to Maine also guarantees you nothing...so I would ask, why mention BU or BC?
