Re: Maine Recruit Updates: All Are Welcome.......

He is a top 4 for any team in Hockey East. TW didn't use him right but my guess is Corkum will. I remember a game he was + 2 or 3 with a goal and at least 1 assist and next gm doesn't dress. Ex EJ dman of the year

i agree... he wasn't allowed to play his style of game which is a aggressive/physical... TW's passive style had him "between minds" vs. his instinctive style and as a result, got whistled for some penalties because of a slight hesitation

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: All Are Welcome.......

True, it affected his confidence in his decision-making as it did numerous other players.

With a New Coach you will see alot of difference's in alot of the players that are returning, and you can bet for the better and in a positive/confidence building wise. It will a Night & Day different TEAM this upcoming season(imo).

i read something a while back that he was offered late by the force and had to rush to get his visa to come over... perhaps he was granted a temporary visa and had to return to sweden at the end of the year?

i looked at his page on the ushl website and he hasn't played since the last game of the regular season... wondering if his visa expired on 4/15

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: All Are Welcome.......

Riley was a HUGE liability on the ice last season.

Agreed. He put me in mind of Heggs and others in recent years, in terms of poor decision-making... Of all the many shortcomings Tim had, perhaps his worst was his complete inability to teach D.

It'll take a crash-course to get next year's D ready to play its position with competence, but IMO there is enough physical talent in Orono to work with. I don't care if any of them registers a single point, either, as long as they all take care of their own end.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: All Are Welcome.......

according to maine hockey journal, nick roberto has committed to bu.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: All Are Welcome.......

Huh. I could have sworn I typed board.uscho.com and not breitbart.com.

Cafe is that way ---->

If the kid has an acceptance letter from Maine, he'll get a student visa allowing him to come back. Much ado over nothing.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: All Are Welcome.......

Zach Glienke was drafted by the Omaha Lancers last night in the 17th round of the USHL Draft...Last I spoke to him he was waiting to sign his NLOI when a permanent head coach is named. This just could be Omaha selecting him to put him on their protection list just in case things don't work out at Maine. I think if he was planning on going to the USHL he would have gone a lot higher in the draft

Zach signed his NLOI to play at Maine on April 17.

Does he look like a decent prospect to you?
