Maine Hockey: Summer 2015 on the Stillwater

uggg, now I wish I did get rid of my season tickets. Apparently I have new people sitting next to me. I had hoped they were just there for a game, but they've been there every game I've been at (which has only been half of them). A couple of middle aged women that are near orgasm every time Maine touches the puck in their offensive zone. The one next to me smelled like booze too, and was telling her friend after the "kiss cam" caught a couple of reluctant kissers that if it was on her she would just start making out with whoever was next to her.

Apparently kiss cams aren't politically correct so they'll probably get rid of it soon. I've found the people who are annoying usually don't come to games for very long so I think you will be okay.

Re: Maine Hockey: Summer 2015 on the Stillwater

My favorites are the folks who come in late while the puck is in play and stand there looking for their seats. Meanwhile the “Yellow Jackets” are leaning against the walls watching the game and are of no help whatsoever.

Premium seats are being sold at a 20% discount for Friday's unh game.

Re: Maine Hockey: Summer 2015 on the Stillwater

I am joining the food drive for the benefit of the Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program (http://www.mchpp.org/).

For every shot on goal Steven Swavely notches this weekend I pledge one can of food. For every goal he scores I am pledging $5.

Additionally, in the spirit of Mr Overtime Ken Schott, for every game this weekend, men's or women's, that goes to overtime I will also pledge a can of food.

I am challenging all University of Maine Hockey fans and alumni to join me in pledging money or food for your local pantry. Read the link below and let RWD know what you will be pledging. You can be straight forward or have fun with it.

As long as Coz is in a senior AD role footballs not going anywhere.

Not sure why you say that. The only national success Maine has ever had in football was under Cos. Cripe, Maine was 10-3 just two years back in what's probably the toughest FCS conference in the country. And Black Bears having been playing on Sunday for years and years now. I think his career at Maine- all things considered - has been pretty remarkable.

Football is not going anywhere meaning Coz will not allow them to cut the program, ala BU, which a previous poster alluded to.

Fun game to watch, action, hard work, up and down but teams are a shadow of their former selves.

Maine simply can't score, it's almost comical it's so bad. Think of last year's goaltending, tirone looked worse.

Re: Maine Hockey: Summer 2015 on the Stillwater

Still looking for a goalie to build a team with it seems. If the goal is to build from the goalie out Maine sure doesn't look like it has its guy. I thought Matty played decent Friday but Rob didn't look like much last night. Obvious that the D is porous and UNH has one great line but I didn't see the next coming of Jimmy last night. After this weekend Maine is still along way from competing at a top level. It ain't happening next year either kids :(

Pretty much. I also think because of the lack of O once they get down by a couple goals the tending seems to get worse or maybe its a combo of both the D and the tending seem to lose focus. Maybe knowing they don't have the horses to come back? Fri's game was an exception, but if they could hit an open net they could've won that game by 5. It's frustrating because you don't see a solution coming. And the lack of team discipline to stay out of the box is a killer for a team with little talent. That's on the coaching staff IMO.

Re: Maine Hockey: Summer 2015 on the Stillwater

It looks as if this coaching staff would do OK with an established program that has resources and recent success to keep on chugging........but I'm not sure they are right for this job where you have to build a program from the ground up without a ton of support.

2 years and 17 games into the third and NO Progress/Improvement to this date(imo).

Oh, OK, my misunderstanding... But I don't want football to go away. It's been a relative bright spot in Maine athletics for a while now.
