Denver's defense already looked like TIMMAY was coaching them. Stand there flatfooted poking at the puck with their stick while the BC forwards skated rings around them.

Public knowledge that CCCC and Maine are going to bid on a regional. They are hoping the ice Breaker tournament is well attended to show Portland is a good tourney spot.

Speaking of the CCCC renovation, went to an event there a couple weeks back. They did a nice job imo. I was in the tear it down camp, but they did a good job with the facelift.. Concourses are much wider, way more bathrooms that are clean and modern. Nice seats. Nice function rooms. That ole pig looks pretty good now.

He didn't even bank it off Bish, he swept it straight in from that awful angle.

Another great and lengthy article on Nyquist from yesterday:

http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20140402/SPORTS0103/304020013/-1/rss23

Nyquist had the gwg vs the Bruins tonight. The announcers mentioned Tim Whitehead multiple times. One of them told Gustav at the end of the game that Coach Whitehead said to say congratulations.

Say what you will about Timmy, but Nyquist/Flynn/Abbott was a hell of an accomplishment. Not to mention Bishop/Purcell/Howard

It was Pierre Maguire and he is a nit-wit. After Maguire said that, Nyquist mumbled something turned and left.

Howard and Nyquist , in that order, were phenomenal tonight. That was vintage Howard. Tough for us Bruin fans. Fantastic to see two Maine guys being big dawgs in the NHL.

(Probably worth noting that Goose didn't comment on the Whitehead reference at all, and that Jimmy was a Walsh recruit.)

We're all in a better place now.

Pierre is indeed a nit-wit, I agree completely on that.

I suppose that the NHL network keeps paying him because he separates the boys in the boxes..? I don't see what else he has to offer.

To All My Dear UMaine-iac Friends:

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for Jimmy Howard and Gustav Nyquist. :) :)

Sincerely,

P.S. - figured you folks would *love* Pierre's reference to Coach Whitehead there at the end ... :p

Gus's agent had better be renegotiating his contract after this year. The best player on the team deserves more than 1 mil a yr.

Hockey contracts are written in blood. It's only a 2 year deal though. After next year he'll be getting 5 or 6 million per year.

Slow down there a minute, cowboy ... any team with Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg and Niklas Kronwall puts Nyquist at best in the Top 5 (considering the likes of Howard, DeKeyser and budding superstar Tomas Tatar are also in the mix).

Right now DRW are reaping some benefits from the injuries to some of those players, with guys like Nyquist and Tatar (and to a lesser extent Sheahan and Jurco) stepping up and getting their feet wet at the NHL level. Lucky they are in the East this year, and they may be the "fox in the henhouse" come playoff time. But Nyquist looks terrific, and should be a fixture in Detroit for a long time to come. DRW has long been a destination for Swedish players, so he won't be going anywhere anytime soon. :)
