Rutt with three shots there at the end of the period. This is a good sign.

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red White Bleeding Blue...

I'd come out in the 2nd with Sully. Not saying Marty is horrible but if not for Rutt it would be 3-1.

I guess hard fore-check and pinch the D. Gotta hope Oullette is up to the task. Seems like we've seen this movie before with PC. That team is deadly with a lead. I'd double shift the top two lines until they are tired. Then call a timeout to rest them. Gotta tie this game at ALL costs. A two goal deficit won't be overcome with that defense and goaltender. I think we are gonna witness how Maine's season goes in the next ten minutes. GoooOOOOO Blue!

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red White Bleeding Blue...

OK, wait until Maine is down two goals and then call the time out. :(

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red White Bleeding Blue...

Power play number 6 for PC. Maine least penalized team and they are called for 6. Unbelievable.

Now Lomberg with a penalty. Oh my, has this team lost its' marbles.

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red White Bleeding Blue...

Lets tell it like it is - after making certain strides for most of the season, Maine suffered an epic collapse in the end. Very sad.

Big improvement over the Whitehead years, though.

Meh. If a Timmy team was in NCAA contention for 80% of the season and then lost four out of five including 4 straight to a comparable team.....This team has gone down in flames. No two ways about it and no "rebuilding blah blah blah" changes it. The great thing is Red won't say any of that, I'm betting he considers this unacceptable

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red White Bleeding Blue...

OK, third period down by 3. Gotta rattle the goalie. Run it Lomberg, or whoever. Sorry but if you aren't cheating you are not trying. Gotta crash and try to rattle that goalie.

Sounds like a fan fight now. Hopefully the Mainuhs won some sort of a battle tonight. :D

Yup, peaked too early, maybe? Choked big time, more like it. Tonight, complete meltdown. The honeymoon is over, this team didn't finish any better than a Tim coached team. One thing for sure is, this team lacks talent, Red better have some coming in or next year is gonna be worse. Still think Red is the right guy but Maine is in tough shape

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red White Bleeding Blue...

After rising to 11th in the pairwise and challenging for second in Hoc East, we finish 1-5-1 and its season over. That's called an epic collapse. Time to tell it like it is.

Yes, it is unacceptable, and I believe Gendron sees it that way. Expect a better year next year. Shaking off a decade of Timmydoldrums is a big chore. It would have been awesome if they went a little further than this, but after how they ended the season? Nah.

Agree to a point. Maine had the softest schedule in program history and at the final 1/3 of the season when the rubber meets the road Maine is who we thought they'd be. Look, they have made a vast improvement over last season but they don't have the horses to match the better teams in HE, let alone nationally. PC is no slouch and could very well contend in the national picture this year. Disappointing yes, a complete disaster with no hope going forward... far from that. So it is what it is. At least we didn't have to put a bag over our heads this year being a Maine fan. 2 more years and it'll be where it should, and where we, as long time fans expect.
