Highest, right? The lowest goes to BC, next lowest to Lowell, and the highest of those playing next week to Providence. Unless I have completely misunderstood the whole thing, which wouldn't be the first time.

Yes, highest. I think that was just a typo.

The team with the lowest number next to its name in the standings goes to Providence :D

PC tickets are $15 and, like Maine, they are available online now - assuming you're willing to gamble on a Maine win next Saturday.

Tickets for the Saturday game can be purchased here

Thanks for posting. Hopefully I didn't tempt fate by buying mine. I figure with the size of their rink there is a decent chance of tickets selling out before Saturday's game. Even though Maine hasn't been going great the last few weeks there still feels like a lot more excitement than we've seen in a long time.

Those players were NEVER coming to Maine...there sights were outside of Maine and playing elsewhere...no matter if it was Gendron...he would have tired hard but as younger kids they had their sights set outside of Maine Hockey.

I'd be willing to bet that they would have if Shawn Walsh was still alive and coaching Maine. The point is that Tim Whitehead road the coattails of the legacy and program that Walsh created only to practically drive it off a cliff and then have Red come along. He has a ways to go to build it back up to be the program that a talented kid wants to come to and compete for a National Championship and best prepare for a shot at the pros all in one.

Does anybody know if the HE playoff tickets that were sold with season tickets are good for the game against Merrimack?

Your right they would have had a chance with Shawn Walsh and Grant Stanbrook at the helm but NO chance with Tim Whitehead...and we will never know want could have been if they had dumped TW years ago...but the point is that the Program suffered once Whitehead more or less soured it as a place to go and play for a winner....now its time to look forward with Gendron and with the Recruiting trail with Ben Guite...it won't happen over night but they are heading in the right direction and it will take time and patience. Rebuilding can be painful at the first part.

Yes,use the game one of that package you got with your season tickets...they announced it during the Seniors Speeches on Saturday. But to be sure call the Ticket Office and they will be better able to inform you.

I just called, and that is correct - even though the Game 1 ticket says Friday night, it will be honored for the game against Merrimack this Saturday.

I'm not going to disagree. I just think it's irrelevant. In my 4th decade of watching Maine hockey (yeah, I'm cheating and counting the late 80s as a full decade), it's becoming increasingly clear just how much Maine caught lightning in a bottle with Walsh.

He's gone. There was never any point in comparing TW to Walsh. The comparison is between TW and other candidates, all of whom share one thing in common (they're not Walsh, either).

I think there's potential with Red, and there are some promising early signs, but it's still all promise at this point. If Maine is going to rejoin the upper ranks of college hockey (maybe not at the very top, but consistently top 10 or 12) . . . we're not going to know until 2020 at the earliest. It'll take time to get there, and even if he gets there, it'll take a few more seasons to demonstrate Maine can stay there.

On the other hand, if Red doesn't work out, it's probably not going to take 6-7 years to find out.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, I hope we don't find out where Maine stands for a good long while. :)

Your keyboard got stuck a little...or you hit your head. Last weekend was atrocious, OK? The last three weeks were less than stellar, OK? Look at the season, the whole season. Maine crawled out of the sewer where the other guy left them, up to the gutter, then back onto the street. One season. As recently as 10 days ago, they were in the discussion for an NCAA bid. 10 days ago. The progress made this season was/is very commendable. 2020 six years away. Get some sleep and try again.
