Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

Hindsight but you could see during the Exhibition game that Glienke was not up to speed with the others, not a knock but a fact that he would have been better served with a full season of USHL play under his belt before coming to the College ranks, hopefully playing full time and with that he can make a comeback to Maine next season, should he opt for that...gaining experience playing and knowing what to expect next time around.

My apologies if this was already known, but apparently frosh forward Zach Gilenkie has left the Maine program, for now at least.

Hopefully he comes back next fall or the year after. He was one of a few guys I think had the talent but came in to early.

I was just about to complain about the broadcast, but they have replays!!! Maine up 1-0

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

Game was actually a little closer than the score would indicate. 1-0 going into the 3rd.

Well how bout first win away from Alfond. Semantics Wally semantics. :)
Princeton on neutral ice, wow you guys are easily impressed. If they beat UNH or Cornell then I'll count it

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

If Cornell beats UNH, tomorrow's game will hardly feel like a neutral site game because Cornell brought their band with them.

To be perfectly honest, they looked better last year. Princeton's size gave Maine problems. Huge edge in goaltending, though, and that was the difference.

Cornell has size and skill. Another game like tonight and the FL win streak ends. Need to step it up. Except for Marty. Hopefully he just keeps it up.

There have certainly been considerable strides made overall under Gendron... But yeah, without Marty playing as brilliantly as he has, we'd all be griping about Maine, or waiting Red out.

(PS: Having seen Cornell a couple of times this year, I like Maine to beat them by a goal, maybe two... And is the video clear enough to justify spending the 10 bucks?)

The video wasn't super clear but the quality of production is much better than Maine's. They even have replays and multiple camera angles. Overall I think it's worth it.

Yeah, didn't think the video was too bad, but whats the deal with going from 8 bucks to 10 bucks? Not that im that tight but a deal is a deal. Maine will have to be swarming and fast all night to be effective against big Red. Its a good test for them at this part of the season especially since Cornell hasn't won the title in some years so they should be very hungry. We see how hungry Red the coach has big Blue tonight. So its Red against big Red, eh? :D

On video anyway, Princeton looked huge. And they weren't afraid to hit. EZAC has come a long way in the last 5 years.

Hows the sun , fun and babes down there?:) We's going to visit Mickey with the small frys in April....one of these years I gotta get to Estero

Listening to the UHN game last night, and man is wistlin' Dick starting to sound like Timmay in his post game comments. IMO the seat be warming under Dicks buns. With BU's disaster of a 1st half, UHN's slow decay and UML up and down, I don't think it's a stretch for a possible 4th in H.E. this year.

Wins are Wins, when Maine was getting beat the last 5-6 years the other Teams counted them as W's...so they may not be a North Dakota/Minnesota type team but they count in the W column and it's another step towards rebuilding the Program.

Its very possible....they will go as far as #51 Ouellette carry's them...Hot/Steady Goaltending is key,as this Team knows they can make a mistake and be ok with #51 playing his best along with a calm confidence.
