What he said. That's the college sports landscape of today (not just hockey). I don't think it will impact the team nearly as much as losing Hutton/Shore (no disrespect to Dan, he's a good solid two-way defenseman), especially given the recruiting class Maine has coming in.
That's just how college hockey is nowadays. You're rarely going to get more than one good season out of a player. The entry level contracts are so limited I'm not sure waiting an extra year would have done him much good. Holway should be a good replacement for him and you would hope the guys who return are improved over last season.
