Maine Black Bears 2026 Offseason: Missing Out on Mistlebacher

Looks like a total of $14.8m in financial contributions to Maine athletics over the last calendar year.

$4.8 if you take out the Morse contribution.

The large donations are coming to an end. Don't get me wrong....they have been true game changers and a lifeline that has thrust UMaine Athletics into the modern world. Maine has outpaced most peer institutions over the past 5 years in growing athletics....especially new facility development. Now it will be about sustaining the department through all of the challenges currently facing college athletic programs. Athlete payments, rising administrative and coaching salaries, rising travel and building maintenance costs.....are all going to issues facing Maine on an annual basis. My hope is that they can shoot for at least $5 million in annual gifts. I think that is what it will take to maintain....and keep pace with other schools.

The best bridge indepth analysis out there right now are the youtube videos Ive previously posted from this guy on youtube channel @Casey jones - engineer.
Its actually pretty interesting, he has 3 out so far.

Any of the local news is shallow uninformed reporting.
