Maine will not be making the playoffs......then you can say bye-bye to Red and Swayman.

Another patented late game surge by the Black Bears?

Bunch of great faceoffs by Dawe

There goes home ice for quarters. More than likely that means no trip to semis and therefore no ncaa playoffs, and sub twenty win season.

You expected different when you knew they were playing PC? Where you been the last 6 years?

That miracle PWR weekend v. BC was clearly an anomaly.

Many (?) of us recognized that immediately, but we drank the Kool-Aid just the same. We just closed our eyes and crossed our fingers.

Maine hockey is the same sh*t-show it's been ever since Red steered it into the rocks years and years ago.

Same old, same old, and it isn't as though PC is all that, either.

Well, the quality of their play has certainly declined after the high point of beating NU at Alfond. They clearly didn't come to play early in any of their last six games or so, with the possible exception of the Saturday game against Connecticut. I would say a lot of that falls on Red for failing to get his team ready to play. I still have faith, though, because as I've said a few times, I truly believe Maine can play with and beat anybody if they are playing well and play a complete game. For that reason, I still have faith in them to make some noise, but my enthusiasm has defintely been dampened.

With New Hampshire's loss Maine has clinched a playoff berth. Maine will remain in fifth. With Northeastern playing BU twice next weekend, the Bears can finish no lower than seventh.

Maine is still alive for home ice. Have to hope for a win over PC and UConn losses tonight vs UMass and Friday against Lowell.
