Re: Maine Black Bears 2019: Offseason Approaching

IDK, Blackie... Maine finished 29th in GA, and 42nd in GPG. Seems to me that the latter is more of a problem.

(And, somewhat fittingly, the two numbers were identical: 2.50 per game... An astonishing degree of mediocrity.)

Of course... hindsight is your comfort zone. Too tuff for you to think ahead. :)

Got to go to work. But I bet Mr fishman will give a disertation. Go screw

Re: Maine Black Bears 2019: Offseason Approaching

Billy Swift could hit and play centerfield also. Wink started him in Center against Rider or maybe Navy??? at a regional in Orono. Man on 2nd, hard hit ball to center, fielded on one bounce by Swifty, 3rd base coach sent him, Too Funny, Swifty threw a strike from centerfield. Catcher had ball by the time runner was around 3rd, easy out. Swifty then came in to pitch in 9th.

Orono boys who played at Maine, Gonyar, Butterfield, Levielle, Hackett, 2 Paul brothers, Carville and I'm probably forgetting some.

Winkin never had a bullpen worth diddly squat

And half those guys grew up not just in the same state, not just in the same town, but on the same street at the same time!

So, you go to work drunk..?

(And, are they hiring there?)

No to first Q. And yes to second Q. Submit a resume... who knows? But I have seen in practice they tend not to hire grumpy with no foresight. But don't let that get you down.

Not to nit-pick, but you haven't been exactly prescient in terms of your predictions these past few years... ;)

Another 2-1 win for the Huskies... in OT.

Gotta love their defense.

Re: Maine Black Bears 2019: Offseason Approaching

Give them credit. They took away our legs and totally dominated the 3rd period and OT.

I guess it shouldn't be a shock BC beat UMass but a shutout. UMass is going down early in NCAAs. Peaked a while back.

They should beat Harvard in the first round and if they get Quinnipiac or Arizona State in round 2 they might be going to Buffalo. If it's Northeastern the Minutemen are finished. Bowling Green is a toss up.
