Just as we commented that Maine was being (badly) outplayed in the third, Schmitty puts one home on a 2-on-1 on a great feed from Poisson. 3-1 Maine.

UMD fan here rooting for Maine. Similar north woods environment and have met several long-time dedicated Maine fans (that have attended the last ~20 tournament finals wearing Maine hoodies) at the last couple of Frozen Fours.

Maine wins it 4-2 with an ENG. It was a solid game I'd say, though the first half of the third period was all BU. But, Maine got the big pick-me-up goal when it counted, and looked rejuvenated after it. Good win.

JSS with a similar assist on Poisson goal earlier. Nice to see them develop some chemistry. What a turn around after that first weekend. Let’s hope for a sweep.

Its near impossible for a goalie these days but if this keeps up Jeremy Swayman ought to win the freaking Hobey

The key as always will be a solid goaltender...and a team that buys into the lunch pail brand hockey that everyone has a part in it...blocking shots...killing penalty's...winning face-offs and buy into team defense...and discipline.

Had he started that night, nobody knows...but don't you think there chances would have been better and sweeping a #8/#10 in the country would be a further plus for this team in confidence and getting the fan base back to Alfond Arena.....(?) Winning is the name of the game...in October as well as January and March...especially out of Conference games versus ranked teams.

Well, it's been a fun start, and it's always a warm and fuzzy feeling to beat BU, but Maine is still scoring-challenged.

If Swayman keeps playing like this: (A.) He's a certain Aii-American, and (B.) Maine's a mortal lock for the NCAA's.

If not? Well...

The kid can play, right? Might turn out to be Maine's best QB since Mike Buck, and Ferguson has been pretty d*** good over his career, too.

Why are they having tv timeouts when the game isn’t on tv? Just one more thing to discourage people from going.

1-0 Maine after one. Shots 10-8 for Maine. Honestly kind of a boring period, I felt like there werent many great chances for either team. I would bet sustained zone time favored Maine.
