Re: Maine Black Bears 2019-20: Seeing Red

Didn't Red just sign another 5 year contract extension? I think he will be in Orono through the 23-24 season.

Swayman might as well turn pro tomorrow. Come back to face 60 shots a night ***

Re: Maine Black Bears 2019-20: Seeing Red

Awesome effort by Shea there, really made sure to cover that guy standing by himself in the slot. Just incredible.

Shea is a dope on the ice. A mistake-machine. (But, Red always recruits losers, doesn't he?)

If Gendron had one iota of integrity in his body, he would have refused the extension. It's very clear that he's wringing Maine out, and is just fine with throwing more dirt on its grave for the sake of another 400K.

He sucks five ways from last Tuesday, and he's certainly the worst coach Maine has ever had. (And, probably, the most expensive, too.)

This program is going to take forever to turn around, if forever lasts that long.

The WORST PART of that is...it has been a on going issue with him...same old/ same old...when will they pull the plug..? I mean if it continues thru this season...he has to know he's the problem...and again the AD has to step in. UNREAL.

Re: Maine Black Bears 2019-20: Seeing Red

Hockey is only the 4th most important program on campus now.....sad but true. If we see no movement on Gendron or Alfond Arena after this season.......we will know that this program no longer matters to the UM Athletic Dept.

Eh I wouldnt go so far as to say took the money and ran.

He stinks but its not like he’s aware that he stinks and is trying to bilk Maine out of the big bucks. He really thought he was going to win a national title.

Whatever else I’ll say about his performance and qualifications, you’ll never hear me say he didn’t give an honest effort.

How do you know what effort he's given? Still can't get them to quit taking penalties, still can't get a 60 minute effort out of them, just what the hell does he do?

Talks a good game. But the last couple seasons, its just all excuses and blaming. Never about him not getting the job done

Well, back to watching football.

UNB 4-0 with 8 to go in 2nd period... game over already probably.

Re: Maine Black Bears 2019-20: Seeing Red

This start isn't shocking, we all knew their was no Defense coming back, we all knew the Offense was going to be sparse and it appears a decent goalie is going to be wasted by lack of recruiting help for him. Red is lost and can't find his way out of it. Too bad for the program and too bad for the fans. Another wasted year

I don't think the team struggling out of the gate was necessarily unexpected, but the magnitude of it and how bad they've looked doing it has been kind of shocking to me.
