Maine at BC, Sunday Afternoon,

Re: Maine at BC, Sunday Afternoon,

Its all speculation but it appears Maine isn't as good as their ranking indicates

They have next weekend off which is a good thing, they need to work on PP combinations
We're not even close to #3.
We're lucky we have the schedule that we do. Four games until our defensemen are back.

Re: Maine at BC, Sunday Afternoon,

BC is a bad matchup made worse a Conte. The 04 got its hide handed to it at Conte for crying out loud. Maine looked fine at Agganis and they looked better than BC up at the Gutt. Can't go saying beating NoDak doesn't mean anything based on this weekend. So bottom line is gotta bounce back in 2 weeks and gotta avoid BC's bracket if we make NCAAs.

Re: Maine at BC, Sunday Afternoon,

well... this disaster of a weekend is over... two weeks to get things sorted out for providence and beaudry

Re: Maine at BC, Sunday Afternoon,

Again, I DO think Maine is a good team, but like most of you think that they are ranked a bit too high right now. Regardless of the polls, in a one game scenario, I would still take BC over anyone. Their two biggest weekends this year were vs DU & Maine and they won all 4 of those games by a combined margin of something like 18-4. When they go balls to the walls, they are tough to beat.

Re: Maine at BC, Sunday Afternoon,

gotta agree with larry... diamond is emerging as maine's best player...

Re: Maine at BC, Sunday Afternoon,

I know it. With all those injuries, they must learn how to cope with only dressing 9 NHL draftees + Muse, Gibbons and Whitney!

The adversity in Chestnut Hill is overwhelming :)

Dimmen and O'Neill are the top D-Pairing, and we have questionable depth behind them. BC can dress 4 pro-drafted D-Men, with all but 1 having championship experience behind Cross. Excuse my lack of sympathy ;)

I will say that I was thoroughly impressed with Wey, he made Gustav look like me out there. Wey is special in his end of the ice, controls the gap and stops oponnents from skating over the blue line like Matt Martin used to.

Re: Maine at BC, Sunday Afternoon,

Nice turnover by Nyquist leads to the empty netter 4-1 BC.

I would not sweat a single turnover. the problem was the plethora.
Did you notice that the D only made about 3 good passes all game (and I counted 2), and each were immediately followed up by the recipient IMMEDIATELY handing the puck to BC?

worst passing Maine team ever, just horrible. Even Abbott does not know if his recipient is a righty or a lefty and he "has the best hands on the team"

watching the D in warm ups was brutal... no passes to the forehand and none knows how to "catch the puck" they all just stop it.

well, at least I was there to cheer for them, unlike the timmy apologists... I will look forward to hearing how great Tim is from people who do not go and see for themselves.

how is it that Lowell and Merrimack can pass the puck, but Timmy's teams never can?

I don't know, talent and team chemistry wise, when teams are playing their best, I think there are only several teams which are as good/better than maine, maybe BU, yale, UMD, Miami, and BC.

It doesn't matter at this point, it's a long season, many didn't foresee maine being this highly acclaimed at this point. They're a very good team without confidence in goal and two of their most important players. They'll bounce back, I'm not expecting much in the few coming weeks. Just looking for them to regroup and start strong in January.

the scant crowd was about 5700...........you think that's "scant" especially for a sunday afternoon during football season?:confused::confused:
When the announcers area making comments like "plenty of good seats still available," etc., I am under the impression that attendance was scant...
