Not so fast, Blackie... The Semlar era was Grampie's team. ;)

Lol, that was a good one. Actually we have a great UMaine athlete, daughter of great high school legend, from Van Buren. That Rossignol can shoot. Wow. Her Dad was a shooter too. So happy for her.

I'm going to try to see the women B-ball team on the road. It's always been a better-than-average program. My uncle from Fairfield (who is actually in the hoops HOF in Springfield as a ref) always said that Maine HS hoops (both sexes) were good despite the odds, because the coaching tended to be unusually astute in Maine. (And this coming from a guy who reffed for many years in Maine and MA, and had to be escorted from several games by local cops in both States.)

Not sure what that means. But next week it'll be figured out. :)

Parise was coached in high school by her dad. She quit UMaine bball as she wasnt having fun. Coach Vachon asked if she wanted to play again. This year she is a key player on a good team

Sirota knows how to play. Let's hope Red doesn't frig his head.

He is listed as alternate skater... 19th skater. I would put him on top pair with Keeper.

I like Sirota a lot, hes been a great addition to the team and has played well. He deserves more ice time. However, theres two big problems I see in Sirota watching him play. First, when he gets beat, he gets beat badly. Secondly, he seems to have a knack for taking penalties late in periods, which is never good. But on the whole, I like the kid a lot, can definitely play.

Evidently you prefer fumble frig turnovers... he's played great seeings he had one month. Looks to me he skates well. Plays body. Takes the body. Chips up out when he needs. Looks to me like a young Davey Cullen. Which this team desperately needs.

To be honest i have seen Michel and Keeper play well lately. But that Sirotas is a great D man. He deserves a lot of minutes.

I think Maine will win four out of their last six games. Five wins wouldn't surprise me either, but I don't want to get too greedy.

I see a split @ Merrimack....split @ Home versus BC, lost on the road to UMass and a win @ Home versus BU, 3-3-0 to end the season.

I think they sweep Merrimack, and could possibly sweep BC. I wouldn't count on it, and don't expect it, but I think they can and if they did it, it wouldn't surprise me.

Re: Maine 2018, 2019 Footba, I mean hockey thread.

I think they could win each of their remaining games. Of course, they've shown that they could lose each of them as well.

I hear you on what they could do in the next 2 series [Merr./BC] and with that I have seen way too much this year in terms of how this team can play so awful and 24 hours later look like world beaters and vice-versa....just never know what team steps on the ice to expect....myself I am hoping for a 6-0-0 run :D but my old stubborn head knows better  [3-3-0].

Re: Maine 2018, 2019 Footba, I mean hockey thread.

Gimme 1-0-1 at Merrimack, 1-1-1 against BU/BC, loss at Amherst. 2-2-2.

Re: Maine 2018, 2019 Footba, I mean hockey thread.

If Maine can win at least two more games than they lose, they will finish with a winning conference record for the first time since 2013-14.

Team USA women are on NHL network tonight too.

But I am busy watching UMaine women's hockey on espn3. They are tied at 1 with BC at 2nd intermission.
