LSSU Lakers 2021-22

6-3-1 is a pretty good start for the first 10 games considering how many players we lost from last season.

From the hockey show, it sounds like we may have a couple of guys back this weekend against BG. Would hate to see us have 6 guys out from illness again like last weekend against Bemidji.

We're finally getting close to having a full lineup. Jeffers may be out for a while yet. Hopefully the sickness bug has run its course.

What is with the god awful attendance this year? Anyone know?

I don't live near the Soo so I don't know what all the rationale might be. Could be Covid fallout. People couldn't go to games last season and have gotten use to watching games on Flo TV rather than attending in person. Scheduling hasn't helped. The Mankato series and this weekend's Northern series have occurred at school breaks with no students on campus. In general, I think attendance has been down at many (not all) schools the past couple of seasons even after allowing for last season being a Covid one.

The Lakers have a new commitment. Reagan Milburn, a forward currently playing for Vernon of the BCHL. His older brother Connor will be joining the Lakers next season. Reagan is 2, maybe 3, seasons away.

The Lakers have a mid-season roster addition. Jared Westcott, a forward transfer from Penn State. Playing his first game for the Lakers tonight.

Disappointing weekend. But give Michigan Tech credit, as they looked pretty good. Does anyone know why 2 coaches were missing from Saturdays game?

The Lakers have really come out flat after the long holiday break. Both Tech and Bemidji have a lot of experience and played games while the Lakers were on break, and it showed. At least next season I think the Lakers will be in a holiday tournament.
