He's a good guy. Hopefully he will help your team overcome some of the challenges many of us face in our attempts to move forward.

The Lakers will be pre-season picked to finish last or next to last . Unless Whitten is a magic man, that is where they will most likely finish.

Unless these freshmen are better than I think they are, we're not getting out of the cellar this year. I would be surprised if UAH were picked anywhere other than 10th.

Pre-season, UAH will definitely be picked 10th. I expect your level of play will be somewhat better next season; tough to say how how many more wins that may translate into. Lakers lose all 3 goalies and 4 of the top 6 D-men and will be very young in those areas. We only lose 2 forwards but they were 2 of the top 3 scorers on the team. Pre-season we'll likely be picked 9th or possibly as high as 8th.

I believe we have our 3rd goalie for next season. I expect to see a press release from his Junior team and/or league in the next day or so.

Randy Russon is reporting on his Hockey News North blog that our 3rd goalie is Gordy Defiel who played for the Coquitlam Express of the BCHL this past season.

Damon is going to change the culture. He is going to lead the Lakers to the promise land. Damon is a first class guy that we need.He is going to sell this program to the public, new recruits and to alumni.

yes all of that & Everyone in the Soo will be attending church and He will remove the hill on Easterday Ave. Damon will shame the drug dealers from crossing at the Soo. Damon will turn Kinross Correctional into the much needed Community College that is needed in EUP - hold on I need to get some more of this great Kool-Aid.
For god sake just let him do what he was hired and is getting paid for, which is to coach and the other stuff will either work it's self out of it won't. Everyone has a plan on what needs to be done, but we are not even waiting to see what Damon believes needs to be done at LSSU.Just for the record I was not happy the with selection process but he's here now & he's my coach now. Well come aboard Coach Whitten

I would like to see Whitten bring in a former player from the early 90s and late 80s to be an assistant. The Lakers need someone who knows how hard they were driven and how hard they were trained to be the team they were back in the glory days. It is easy for Whitten to say he knows how great they were but he wasn't there to see and know how hard they worked to be those teams. It was hard training and hard workouts that drove the Lakers to be the best they could be under Anzalone and Jackson. Whitten needs to bring in an assistant who understands without that same driven workouts and practices , the Lakers will not be a top tier team.
