Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

Ohio is going to be tough with the fact they have a very good goalie and scoring isn't easy for Lake State to begin with. Bowling Green is not going to be a push over either and they are probably playing as good as Lake State as of now if not better. When is Campbell coming back ?
I think I heard Campbell say (interview with Bill C last Friday) he was hoping to be back by the next home series. A little sooner would be nice; I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The next home series is still 3 weeks away and that leaves Campbell playing in the last 6 games of the season. The injury must still need healing .

He's been skating for a while. I assume he feels that his shoulder isn't ready for a lot of contact yet.

I think the Lakers should use a medical redshirt on Campbell for the year. It does not seem to make sense to bring him back for 6 regular season games and a few playoff games.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

Lakers SOS is 37th and NMUs is 10th. That is seriously affecting the Lakers RPI. Also, the Lakers PWR is getting killed by the common opponents factor. I saw 1 or 2 situations in which we won that category, but not very often. That is where that loss to UA-H is coming back to haunt us.

I understand they have a stronger schedule, but if you don't win the games you play against those teams that make your schedule stronger then it becomes a moot point no? Both teams play in the same conference and LSSU is ahead of NMU in the standings, LSSU has a better home record, a slightly better (based on win%) road record, has a better record against TUC, AND swept NMU when they played.....and all of that gets eschewed so much so that NMU ranks 7 spots ahead of us in Pairwise because we lose one game to UAH? I'm sorry but that does not stand to reason whatsoever (and yes, I realize that we still have over a month left in the season, and that what the Pairwise looks like now doesn't matter at all with regards to the end of the season, I just find it to be proof of a flawed system).

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

Maybe you're factoring in LSSU's two wins against NMU and they're not? Not sure if head to head wins only count in that category, or if they factor in the TUC category as well.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

Four games coming up in Ohio the next 2 weeks and neither Bowling Green or Ohio State are power houses and the Lakers need to take 3 of four .

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

I agree, if we want to factor in the top 4 conversation i'd say we're gonna need to mine 10 points minimum out of that terrible state of Ohio in the next two series

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

Yeah, that was the problem. If your comparing against a team you've faced, you count it in the H2H and remove it from the TUC.

That is such a flawed system....even though it counts as head to head, NMU remains a TUC so idk how 2 games against a TUC can just not factor in the record vs. TUC column... apparently the Pairwise creators never understood the transative property ( we have 2 wins and 0 losses vs. NMU, NMU is a TUC, so our record vs. TUC should be increased by 2 wins and 0 losses)

Sounded like Drapluk could be out until the Alaska series on the pregame show. Guess we don't have to worry about the bye after tonight.

Definitely no first round bye. Sounds like the team didn't show up tonight, at least through the first two periods.

Well they finally showed up in the 3rd period, but too little too late. Tough to come back from a 3 goal deficit, especially on the road. Need to win tomorrow night to get the split.

They had some good opportunities to tie the game late. I would think Murdock is the goalie the rest of the season.

I didn't listen to the game. Did Kapalka injure his shoulder again? Looking at the box score, it looks like the special teams doomed the Lakers tonight. Seems like Murdock played really well again and niice to see Ciotti get a goal.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

I didn't listen but just saw that KK only played 6:05 of the 1st period. What happened?
Roque pulled KK right after the 1st Buckeye goal. It sounded like a soft goal on the short side. From what Bill C was saying, it sounded like Roque was berating KK back at the bench.

I had it on the Buckeye video feed, so they did not mention anything about Roque's reaction to the goal. It was a very soft goal to give up. The shot was probably from about 40' out with no screen in front.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

I read the recap on the game and Rogue said it was nice how the players battled and murdock played nice. Roque, you lost, there is no nice. Get a winning mindset and maybe the players will show up to play harder at all games. Seems the Lakers were horrible the first two periods and Crawford made the comment that Murdock should sue the team for giving no support . Kapalka was pulled because Roque said he just didn't seem aggressive in the net. Battling to reach 500 each season isn't going to make the Lakers winners.
