Lindenwood Women's Ice Hockey 2013-14 Season Thread

Re: Lindenwood Women's Ice Hockey 2013-14 Season Thread

Excited to go to St. Louis and see some hockey. Should be a great boost for visibility of the sport, which should ultimately help the Lions.
...and just a day's drive for most in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Is there plans for any "updates" to the LU Arena in time for the finals?

The Frozen Four will be played at Family Arena in St. Charles, not at the LU Arena.

Looks like AmericaOne has the wrong game time for Sunday's game so probably can't see it either.

Did anyone watch the Lindenwood/Minnesota State game yesterday? Good game, as Lindenwood held them scoreless for about 51 minutes and the score didn't reflect the game as Minnesota State scored on a turnover breakaway with 3 seconds to go on a hail mary across ice pass by the Lions. Call me crazy, but I wish someone would watch the video of the game and count the shots. The official shots were 31-15 Minnesota State, but watching the game it appeared way more than that. The video announcers had 27-5 in just the first period with a 0-0 score, while the officials at the rink recorded 13-3? I can see it being off a bit, but by 14? And by watching, it appeared the announcers were closer than the official states.

Congrats to Lindenwood for the biggest win in the program's NCAA D-I history with a 4-2 win over No. 8 Robert Morris. Although outshot 57-18, Hensley had 55 saves for the win. Broad and Kirkham each had 2 goals and 2 assists and Slattery had 3 assists. Congrats girls.

The Lions usually seem to give the Colonials' fits, having beaten them three out of four in the regular season last year and then playing them tough in the CHA Tournament (0-2 and 1-2). At a certain point it can't be because they're taking Lindenwood lightly...maybe they would rather avoid them in this year's tournament?

Nice surprise tie with No. 8 Mercyhurst this past weekend - the non-loss in program history to Mercyhurst.
