Lindenwood AD is doing the work already. Are they next?

I need more than quotes from the coach. That Zombo thinks his rink is the Taj Mahal of college hockey over the Ralph makes everything else he says laughable.

He thinks "That Zombo" is a racial slur directed at the coach you referenced in the preceding sentence. Your advanced use of grammar flew over his head. You'll have to dial it down a tad.

Wow! Flew over your head, totally missed it, has absolutely nothing to do with his name. I'll try to dial it down for you in the future.

Do a little history search...
The coaches name is Rick Zombo. He literally is quoted as saying, “It is the Taj Mahal of college hockey,” Zombo said. “It’s seven miles from campus, a fantastic situation. Anybody with any type of pulse is impressed." He's clearly delusional if he thinks it is nicer than the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, ND. If he believes his rink is nicer, I don't believe anything he says. There is absolutely NOTHING racist about what I said you imbecile.

With Moose's response now in the record (which is exactly what I thought he was saying) I'll admit to you that I totally missed it. So please dial it down for me and share with the world what racial faux pas Moose committed in his post.

I'm gonna guess this has something to do with the former Fighting Sioux name/native logo. Or Ralph's cache of Nazi memorabilia and Hitler birthday parties back in the 80s.

Listen up moron, see I can use name calling just like you. The Ralph is magnificent, the best in college. Much better than The Old Barn that I & tons of Sioux and Grand Forks natives went to for games. I am not your history teacher so go look up Englestadts background & how it ties into racism.

OK, it's been dialed down enough for me, I think get it now. Let me play it back to you: Do not mention the name of the rink that the University of North Dakota plays in on Juneteenth. And furthermore, do not use the nickname of said rink on Juneteenth.

Did I break into jail by using the phrase "the name of the rink that the University of North Dakota plays in?" If so, my bad; what would be the appropriate way to refer to that facility on Juneteenth or any other day for that matter?

If I roll my eyes any harder they'll spin out of my head. I LIVED IN GRAND FORKS. MY BOSS FROM THEN WAS IN THE MEETING WITH RALPH WHEN HE DONATED THE MONEY AND TOLD UND HE'D LET THE BUILDING TURN TO DUST IF THEY DROPPED THE SIOUX NICKNAME. Don't preach like you know anything about this topic and I need to Google it. Fucking jackass.

Anyway, it's still the accurate name of the building. Until it isn't, which will be never, so that's how I will refer to it. Accurately. UND couldn't change the name if they wanted to. They don't even own the building.

Finally, its Engelstad. Not Englestadts. You pretentious prick.

Annnyyywaayyyyyy.... if he thinks that his community rink is the nicest thing out there, he's delusional. It might be the nicest DI rink in Missouri, but that's about it.

Wow. So any news on the topic of the thread?
We just need a rubber stamp from the president,” Zombo said. “Our AD is doing the work already. Any time you’re starting out, the bottom line is going to be in the red. You’ve got to let the community know you’ve got a program. We just need a go-ahead from the people that write the checks.”

So just like every other school in the US, all they need is $100M (and a rubber stamp apparently) and **bing** they'll have a men's D-I hockey team. So easy, any school can do it. The folks from the NHL/College Hockey study group should be down any day now to produce a report stating that Lindenwood would be an excellent candidate for D-I hockey... once they find the funding.

I think it's "the name of the rink in which the University of North Dakota plays." Something about a preposition or conjunction or something is the wrong thing to end a sentence with. ;)
