Life Tips/Tricks/Cheats

Re: Life Tips/Tricks/Cheats

Always carry an umbrella. I store one of those nice collapsible ones in my briefcase. Very handy if you live in a place where the weather can change drastically in just a few minutes.

Re: Life Tips/Tricks/Cheats

If you make a mistake, own up to it directly and forthrightly, right away *

If you try to deny you made the mistake, you'll look foolish at best, a liar at worst.

If you admit that "a mistake was made" but "it wasn't your fault," then you cannot provide assurance it won't happen again, and you leave yourself powerless to change things.

If you say, "This is what I did and here is where it went wrong and this is what I'll do differently next time" and then actually do it differently next time, it shows you are learning and growing and more likely to become reliable in the future.

* UNLESS it would expose you to civil liability or criminal penalty, in which case consult an attorney first!

Re: Life Tips/Tricks/Cheats

1- if you are a drinker like myself, try this: drink 1 water for every 1 drink you purchase. It will keep you hydrated, will keep you from drinking as much, and save you money.

2- Stock tips: You like a big company that has had some bad news? Buy it when everyone thinks its the end of the world. For a stable company, this is easy money and how buffet made his fortune. Think BP. Don't try this with worldcom, enron, linked in, facebook though!

3- warm up before stretching. Stretching is worthless unless you have a light warmup.

4- hockey: as a D, keep the puck carrier one stick lengths away and force them away from the center/ towards the boards. As an offence, create space and go east/west as most D are too stuck thinking north south. Once you draw two guys to you, find the open guy as this will happen for most games of pickup.

5- women: If you are talking to a women and her pupils dilate, she is interested. If she plays with her hair, has her palms facing you, or her legs are crossed towards you she is interested. The easiest way to know if you should go say hi to a women is if she makes brief eye contact , smiles and looks away.
