Re: Lake Superior State Hockey Lakers 2013-2014 (part II)

Has anyone had any success listening to the Internet stream of a Lakers game (or Lakers Hockey Show) on their Smartphone or IPAD? Normally I listen in using my Windows based laptop, but we recently got an IPAD also and I haven't been able to get the stream to work on that. I think the QR Code at the YesFM web site is at fault and I sent them an e-mail. They replied that they would try to make sure the QR Code is correct, but the last time I tried it, still no luck. Anyway, I was just curious if anyone else has encountered this problem.

Sorry, can't help there. I have only ever tried to listen from my laptop.

Bill-Download the TuneIn Radio app for iphone/ipad. It allows you to listen to both 1400 ESPN for radio shows and 99.5 for games. It's free!

We tried scanning their code to our android phone several times with no luck. Has anyone had any luck with an:confused android app?

Nice win! Our boys have had a lot of come from behind victories this year. These are the kind of games that Laker teams from the last decade would of choked under pressure and lost.

The code is bad. I e-mailed them so hopefully they will fix it. The TuneIn Radio app works for IPhones/IPADs (I used it last night), and they have an Android app also.

Hopefully the Lakers will put forth another good effort tonight and come away with a sweep. You have to figure Bemidji is going to play with more energy tonight, so we'll see if the Lakers can match that.

Lakers are 5-0-1 on Fridays and 2-3-0 on Saturdays which is a big difference. The Lakers have lost three in a row on Saturdays. Hopefully the boys can snap that streak and get a sweep!

Found it Bill thanks. I too noticed the difference in there Friday vs Saturday record. Let's hope they make it win #3 and sweep Bemidji. I have been impressed with the number of come from behind wins they have had this year.

Tough loss. At least they got a split on the road and have the next four games at home. Also the Lakers still have 2nd best overall record in the WCHA. Hopefully the Lakers can have at least a 3-1 homestand.

Hockey is more than just a one man game..Kapalka . Kapalka needs more help than what he is getting. The team has to score more and more than the first line needs to score.

I agree that they need a 3-1 homestand at least. Both teams will be tough. Ferris is still undefeated in league play, but 6 of they games have been home games for them, with their only 2 road games in Huntsville. It will be interesting to see what Ferris does on the road at Northern and LSSU the next 2 weeks.

I saw both games this weekend. When the Yooper teams come to BSU, I like to sport my 1971 NMU basketball letter jacket and look for conversation with visiting fans, but was pretty sparse (the 11-hour 2-lane road trip is rough). I was impressed with Lake State's over-all game. Their defense was excellent and not just in the goal. The Beavers are currently not consistently solid, but emerging to the point where they're be very dangerous at tournament time. The Lakers are still a top 20 team. Sm2pk is right in the sense they need more goals, but BSU's Walsh is one of the leagues better goalies. Good luck against Ferris.

It was a good series to watch. I just wish the crowds would have been better at the Sanford Center. I mean, if you want to just look at butts in the seats, these numbers are pushing UAH numbers.....

Re: Lake Superior State Hockey Lakers 2013-2014 (part II)

I believe the Lakers defense is greatly improved this year over last year. The shots against are still high, but a lot of those shots have been from the outside and not that great with regards to quality. I would argue that the Kevin's made alot more big saves last year compared to this year at this point, but there is no doubt they have been the rock in which the Lakers have leaned on the past two years.

The Lakers are better so far this year in Team Offense and Team Defense than last year and rank 8th Nationally on the Penalty Kill. If they can cut down on the penalties they are taking(avg. 15 min per game) and score more on the PK, sweeps will come. They are absolutely atrocious with the man advantage so far (9 for 54 16%).
