He is an idiot. He has ALWAYS been mean spirited, even in UAA's glory days. And we wonder why the Sully is empty ... he has a lot to do with that because of his articles. When UA_ was a horrible team (and they have certainly had their seasons) your beat writer for the News Miner never wrote this kind of garbage about the Nanooks.

Even during Matt's first season when the team played well and won most of the home games, Woody would find something negative to write about the next day following their wins.

I’m a Seawolve hater from way back. But honestly, it’ hard to understand the negative spin that your local rag puts out there. And yes, we have and still do give our local sports writer(s) lots of ammo to shoot with, but I don't ever recall reading a news-miner article that is blatantly negative. Good for us.

Sports reporting in general is bass-ackwards in this state. Everyone has their own little fiefdom...ADN fawns on the Aces, GCI...err, KTVA...is all-in on UAA, etc. Go out to the outlying areas and they'll just report on local high school stuff and not even pick up the AP articles on the two NCAA programs in the state, or the Aces, or much of anything else.

He's not to the level of Woody, but Tim O'Donnell at the News Miner puts out some snarky tweets about the Nanooks from time to time too.

I miss those days when Doyle had to only write about the Aces. Seems like it just made him more of a dick towards a team he gets paid to cover.

UA_ 4 SCSU 2 late empty net goal to wrap it up, SCSU will overlook UA_, dummies
UAA 3 ASU 1 ASU will come out hard and score first, then fade out

UA_ 6 ASU 0 UA_ will figure out ASU like they figured out Mt. Royal in the third period
UAA 2 SCSU 3 I don't think we're quite "there" yet, we'll score late to make it interesting, but SCSU will be ****ed after losing tonight

If I were coach I'd put that article up where all the guys can read it, should motivate them to prove wood head wrong! It worked when Bourne wrote that letter about how much the Badgers disrespect the Seawolves!

But last season when the Aces weren't very good, he turned on them as well. He's just all about negativity and he thinks he's oh so funny. He's not.

Not that I really care, but the comment in your signature from ADN is inaccurate. The wins and ties are vacated - not forfeited.

Just sat down at the Sully - the rink is looking pretty good. Didn't know what to think of the "mauve and grey" motif, but it works. Apparently they aren't done with construction yet, they are still putting seats, rails, etc in. There's a few sections--103,101,102,104, that will have a bunch of closed rows. The padded seats in the center are actually really nice and really comfortable.

GCI airs home games live and free for those in Alaska who have GCI service. Maybe you can watch it on WCHAtv?

It used to be online on the GCI website. Haven't been able to find anything though now.
