Jwhl 2011/2012

Re: Jwhl 2011/2012

The NAHA White team may have stumbled a bit vs. JWHL competition but they are no doubt as strong if not stronger than they've been in the past...here is why...
This past weekend at the US Canada cup Kitchener they played the top 2 teams in the PWHL, and the 5th place team
The Toronto Aeros are 16-0 in PWHL play and first in the league. NAHA White controlled the game and beat them 4-1
Mississauga is 10-1-4 and second place in the league. NAHA White beat them 6-3
Stoney Creek is 11-3-0 and in fifth place. NAHA white lost to them 4-3 in round robin play in a game that was filled with an incredible amount of penalties, and then met them in the finals. In the finals NAHA White limited Stoney to 11 shots on net and beat them 3-0. IF the PWHL is in fact the best league in North America and it seems to be the overwhelming sentiment that it is in fact the best league. NAHA beat up the best Canadian teams this past weekend, winning their second Kitchener US CANADA CUP in a row.

Re: Jwhl 2011/2012

Well said. Additionally the younger NAHA team (red) had a pretty good weekend as well. Going 4-0 in round robin before being defeated in the championship game 2-0 (empty net at end).

Re: Jwhl 2011/2012

Any hotel suggestions for the Calgary weekend. Games are at the Edge School

Probably your two best options. Right across from Canada Olympic Park, ~10 minute drive from Edge, as close as you'll get. If you're up for it you can check out the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame or the new Athletic and Ice Complex which includes the new Hockey Canada Arena (where the Men's U20 had their selection camp for the World Junior Championships and where the National Women's Team will be centralized for the 2014 Olympics).

Otherwise there are some options along 16th Ave NW (16th Ave N becomes the Trans Canada Highway), so anything around the University or McMahon is ~5 minutes more:

Re: Jwhl 2011/2012

They are booked at the Best Western Village Park Inn for $135 a night which is the internet rate. I have found that the team arrangements have not always been the most convenient or least expensive for a number of weekends.

OK, I'd run with the options West posted then.
